Simon's parking on Montgomery across from city hall. Simon runs a tight ship and his crew are all very nice. I think it is $6 or $7 a day. Support your local.

Eat more sandwiches.

Skunks

Just can't stay away

There is a skunk in my back yard (van vorst) and it just scared the bejesus out me. I smelled it last night and just thought the neighbors upgraded their stash. Nope. Skunks. 3 feet from my Weber. It's an odd feeling to expect a cat/raccoon/opossum and see the striped creature of the night. Im not sire why..but skunks ate the worst. Is there a number I can call or is this just a case of "city living"? Darn skunk almost made me drop my sandwich.

Decarlo is the best in town. They are not cheap. They run a first class operation and their services are worth every penny. I had the suit I was married in tailored by Decarlo and have been using them ever since. You can now end your search and celebrate with a nice breakfast sandwich.

If you have the craving for a true philly cheese steak try:

http://www.philssteaks.com/

Cheese steak truck. A cheese steak aficiando turned me on to Phil's and I haven't looked back. Fresh Philly bread picked up daily. Often near union sq.

****I have no problem with Wogies. They put out a fine product as well.

Downtown JC construction rules?
#99
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

I am lucky enough to live across from what is now a construction site. I feel they may be starting earlier and possibly working later than the city allows. Can I get some help here? JC construction rules? I fully understand that construction is part of city living. BFD. Starting at 6am with trucks and whatnot...not cool at all. This morning a truck idled outside my windows with the radio blasting talk radio. It was awesome. Anyway, enjoy your sandwiches and thanks in advance for any advice.

Europa on Jersey is worth a try. If you go early enough they have a nice selection of fresh rolls and breads for all your sandwich making needs.

Fish Sandwiches

I'm trying to locate a decent fish sandwich downtown and yet to find one. A tasty fish sandwich somewhere downtown? Anyone?

(Filet o' fish need not reply)

I apologize for the non-jersey shore related query.

One of the few beauties of reality television is the whole season will be filmed in a few weeks at most. Maybe one of our wonderful local sandwich making establishments will make a Jersey Shore spin-off Sandwich. I suggest a Taylor ham and egg with a side of "thanks for all the negative press".

The Kraverie is a welcome addition to the JC food scene. I had the Seoul Cheese steak and Korean crepe yesterday and both were pretty pretty pretty pretty good. Pretty good. The chicken wings were crispy and a delightful surprise. I look foreward to having another brunch option in town that isn't straight up bistro food. The Kraverie is definitely different than most restaurants in downtown JC. This place has Seoul.

Re: Taqueria

I hate the taqueria too. I hate them because the tacos they make are so much better than any around. I also hate them because the home made hotsauce is perfection and everything that comes out of the kitchen consistently top notch. Haters are bound to hate.
Please don't leave.
Downtown JC without the taqueria could lead to a JC outbreak of sad taco-less taco enthusiasts. Who wants that?

Re: Excellent Buffalo Wings- Where can I find them?

Best wings I've found in Jersey City are at the White Star Bar. They are not your gourmet Thai chili spiced/Sweet Honey BBQ imposters. The wings at the White Star are true to the simple Buffalo wing formula of crispy wings tossed in a hot sauce butter combination. At least that is what my pallet has concluded. Consistently tasty.
