I love how the Fireworks were cancelled in Jersey City which celebrates all of our heritage. But somehow we can have 90 ethnic parades.

How come there are very little American festivals, and a very small turnout for National parades ? It seems foreign based events command huge appearances from the foreign born and Americans as well. The 4th of July has the biggest turnout for an American based event. Memorial Day, and Veterens Day should get equal billing compared to all events held. August 6th was the 65th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, an American triumph !

Yeah... we can wave our guns around and maybe Sarah Palin can come and autograph our books. Now that we're all here, let's shut it down and party.

Cigarette machine=gone...as is the greenish hue TV...now a flat screen

UGH, that greenish hue TV was so classic. Late at night/early morning, they would play classic old movies.

I hate when classic things change

The problem is that classic things are only "classic" to the outsiders. From an owner/employee standpoint, I'm sure they love the flatscreen over a green hued tube tv. Their "improvements" are generally our "sellouts."

Their Tuesday "happy hour all night" is a good deal. Appetizers are 1/2 off, but they can be hit or miss. Usually the mussels are overcooked and they have not debearded them. Catfish sliders are good too, but the last time I had them, I think the chef put a pound of salt on them.

I love the jitney's because they run so often. But they are crappy, hot, and uncomfortable.

People whining about them - don't take them. But don't ruin them for those of us who like to take trips to Bergenline and buy hot pants for deep discounts.

Have you ever driven a car behind these things? They are a menace, and if they were held to the same traffic laws the rest of us abide by (and they are obviously immune to), they would be arrested and never allowed to operate any motor vehicle ever again.

Ever drive behind a taxi cab / regular city bus / school bus?

Yes I have. A taxi generally only makes one stop. A city bus stops at designated bus stops, and a school bus obviously makes many stops, but it's just bad luck if you're caught behind one. But they only run twice a day. These jitneys have absolutely ZERO rules and run 24/7.
