Re: POLICE TO DIVERSIFY - out of whack with the demographics of the city

Don't get me started on quotas.
It seems like cities and townships are constantly massaging test results to get the "appropriate" cross section of whites and minorities. I think all of the tests should be anonymous.

Isn't there a local news station that do those reports and undercover stories that could be contacted about all this. CBS, NBC or someone?

I say just leave em and they'll be correct again soon enough.

I mean, the parking authority would have to rezone grove street to let the parks dept get there to trim some trees and then the incinerator dept would have to come collect the limbs. Of couse that all depends on whose property the clocks are actually on becuase pse&g might or might not allow use of a ladder on them.

The mural is the only good thing about columbus ave.

Has anyone noticed the rodents of unusual size running in and out/around that tarp next to the pawn/travel agency? They were huge and very brazen.

Re: The funniest thing about getting yor car stolen in JC...
Home away from home
Home away from home

about five years ago...Had my car stolen - reported it- they found it five days later with tickets. Paid the $165 to get it out of the impound lot, paid the report fee and cleared the tickets.

had my car for another three days or so and it got stolen again. this time I cancelled my ins and decided to write the car off in my mind.

A month later they say it's been recovered agian - with tickets. I go to the impound lot and decide I don't want the thing anymore (89 jetta book value was prob $1000) So its a $140 fee to sign it over to the state. If I don't do that then it's considered abondonaning a vehichle and I was told a warrent would be issued for my arrest after a certain perioud of time.

If I wanted to take it, I would have had to get a tow truck... I couldn't drive it away because I didn't have current insurance.

yeah, that was a bad month.
I'm amazed I still live in this town, it's so backwards.

What do you consider a "proper pec deck"

I'm pretty sure they have the one where you keep your arms sraight out and grasp the handels, can be reversed to do read delt.
I'm lifitng chest tonight so I'll double check and report back.

They have a lot of really nice cardio equipment, all top of the line stuff.
The space is great, well lit and good air circulation.
The steam room and sauna are roomy and very nice as well.

Bottom line, it was worth the wait and it's def a great place to work out.

The other gym in the area was delayed too. They gave every member that joined during presale an extra month on their membership for every month they were delayed. I thought that was prett nice and a nice way to earn some quick loyality.

Anyone have any ideas how the enrollment is going so far for them?

What about Journal Square? (And by that, I mean really being two or three blocks from the PATH station station and plaza area, not, say, by Lincoln Park.) To me, Journal Square is feeling a lot nicer and safer than it did a few years ago.

When I drive around that area of JSQ it seems like any other city during the day/night. I'd agree that it's seems nicer right around the path station in the past few years. But for me, it's a matter of convenience. I work in the city and usually go out in the city so the added commute time is a pain (ok, so it's only a few minutes.)

you wanna be looking Downtown, Palus hook, near VVP or HP or newport.

People will holler from the rooftops about the merits of other areas of JC but to me it's not worth the $100-$200 I'd save a month in rent.
Although I have a pretty sweet deal on my place. So I guess it's not a fair comparison.
