Kids is this city are animals - at least the ones I've had the pleasure of encountering. Just take a walk through 2nd st. b/w Coles & Jersey any afternoon after school lets out. They hang out on the stoops, toss their trash everywhere, and yell obscenities at people. Bunch of savages in this town.

Bring back the cane, that's what's needed. Cane them all!

And compulsory military service, of course.

In my experience it is best to ignore kids playing these sort of games.

I can remember playing knock down ginger (knocking on doors and runing away) as a child, our targets were those who would get riled and chase us down the road, there's no fun if there is no response.

I am not convinced this is true, the current location is highly accessible from most of Jersey City, not just for downtown residents.

The current location is extremely well connected; A lightrail stop right next door, Grove Street Path a few blocks away, numerous public buses that run past Grove street, plus there are the dollar buses.

What are the public transport options to the new location?

It seems a difficult location to get to by public transport. What would be the quickest way from downtown?

I can only hope that they will lay on buses from downtown, although I heard that they had to discontinue buses due to the prohobitive costs.

A great thing about the current location is that both Path and Light Rail are right next door, plus loads of buses run through Grove street, and there are the $ buses down Newark too.

If you go to court you will almost certainly be able to have it dismissed, when I have been the judges are accomodating and dismiss the tickets of anyone with a half-decent explanation or excuse.

But can you spare the time?

Has Fulop even annnounced officially yet? Isn't that why Skinner got in the race? I'm not so sure about his citywide strength. What if he decides to run for Ward E again - should Skinner drop out?

My theory is that this has all been cleverly worked out by Fulop and the gang.

1. They probably reason Fulop can't win a race for mayor this time round.

2. DanL to run for mayor as a placeholder candidate to keep the reform slate ticking over, and guage citywide support.

3. Fulop to use his name recognition and support base to run for an at-large seat.

4. Skinner to take the safe Ward-E seat.

Steadily building a reform movement ready for a serious mayoral push next time around?

Why were they only able to gather so few signatures?

It doesn't bode well for the eventual success of the referendum(s) if they were only able to gather 3,000 signatures. If the motions have popular support gathering 10,000+ signatures should have been possible by now, or should it?

Sinatra Park field in Hoboken was found to have lead at the same time as Cochrane. The artificial turf at Sinatra Park was replaced, and we have been using the wonderful new field for two months now.

Meanwhile Jesrey City have yet to agree on a contractor.

Re: Street Sweeping

Irritating and useless at cleaning as the street sweeeping is, it serves an important purpose in keeping parking spots circulating. It stops people leaving semi-abandoned cars on the streets, and ensures there is a constant turnover of spaces.

One of the things that makes parking in Hoboken even worse, is that they only have to move once per week, so there is much less daily turnover.

The Trump Tower! How on earth could anyone build such an ugly thing next to the Powerhouse, it is truelly saddenning.

I was looking up from the Paulus Hook side the other day and thought, oh it isn't as totally horrible as I thought, at least they have some black patterned varaiation on this side. Then I realised I was mistaken and was looking another tower to the West instead (50 Columbus perhaps?).

The Trump Tower itself is just unmittigatingly bad. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

She had to really insist that our architect not put an island in "You don't want an island? Nobody does a kitchen without an island!".

While I agree wholeheratedly that City agencies should obey the law, would there be any purpose in Jersey City ticketing itself?

When it pays the fine will it just write a cheque to itself?

Lets hope nothing crops up to stop this going through.
