Gotta go with the cart. Ibby's has gotten a tad pricey for what they offer. I do love their harissa though.

Stopped by here this past Sat around 11:30 craving a torta. Tried the Aztec and the California. Both were great and I'm looking forward to going back to try the rest.

It looks the same to me. Well, maybe not the same but not much of an improvement.

I believe the AC pub is the Ri' Ra. It is actually a chain, but the bars are fairly authentic and the food is good.

One of these in the Powerhouse would get things going around here.

No, Ri Ra is Ri Ra. That's in Tropicana.

The Irish Pub, named exactly that: "Irish Pub" is on St James Place and the Boardwalk.

I guess what I don't understand is what you're defining an "Irish pub" to be.

Seeing as we have multiple establishments downtown actually owned and run by genuine, honest-to-god Irish people, I'm curious as to what this mythical ideal establishment would look/feel/sound like.

The ones Ive seen downtown don't really have an Irish feel to them, just Irish names. So perhaps something like they have down in Atlantic City?

That would be the most amazing.

Harissa - anyone know of a store downtown that has it?

I stopped in 3 or 4 middle eastern/halal groceries around the Grove St area and no no one had harissa paste for sale. I plan on getting some dried chilis and making my own but also wanted some of the paste that comes in a tube or can. Can anyone suggest a storefront where I can buy the paste?
thanks

Am I the only one that recalls all the muggings, break-ins, car theft, attempted rape and most recently the homicide?

Sure, it's safe enough most of the time but it seems like some people are painting a very rosy picture.

I assume you are talking about internet service? I have the 'Performance' service and have tested speeds of close to 12 Mbps down which is certainly more than enough for me.

Sorry. Yes, internet service.
Performance huh? Sounds good to me.

Re: Brick Haus Gym

Brick Haus is great. I've been a member since they opened and am still very happy.

The place is spotless, they do a great job with the upkeep.
I'm usually there from 7-9 in the evenings. At that time, there is never a wait for cardio equipment and very seldom a wait for anything else and usually that's only for the benches by the dumbbells. Days and weekends, it's empty. Not sure about other times.

The only thing that I would change is to have a few treadmills without tv's that face mirrors but that's just a personal preference for motivation.

Re: What's worse for JC, Luxury Condos or Hipsters?
Home away from home

I like the hipsters, they make me laugh. I saw a little Asian girl with tight jeans, black frame glasses, flannel shirt and army hat riding a bike with a banana seat yesterday.

As for the occupants of luxury condos, they won't mug me and don't hit me up for change every time I buy a sandwich.

So neither of them are that bad.

Years ago I used to have a Geo Tracker with soft top. The thing was broken into so many times I just left the doors open. After a few months of not finding anything inside, they just decided to slice two passenger side tires AND the spare. I guess they showed me.
