The point was not to compare the persons or their competencies but used as an example to make the point that you don't have to be healthy to be a good president.

The 2 are not related and the current obsession about the candidates health is absurd in my opinion.

But I give up as that seems too hard to understand...

Earlier on this topic someone compared Trump to Michael Bloomberg, since they are both businessmen.

As much as I admired the job Bloomberg did post 9/11 I felt he got a little full of himself. He change the term limits and then back before leaving office and basically through his actions said New Yorker's were too dumb to choose which size soda was good for them.

We are running out of 'easy' oil and gas. With gas, we are pretty much relegated to what is referred to as 'tight' gas (shale, limestone) on land.

We were saved by the technological revolution though that happened, thanks in a big part to people like Harold Hamm and George P. Mitchell who took big risks in developing a technology the big oil producers were convinced wouldn't work.

The next big thing (IMHO) will be converting natural gas to liquid fuels such as diesel and gasoline. Big projects to build plants were put on hold once the light crude price went down below $60 per bbl.

There are more potential reserves that haven't been touched yet. NJ has natural gas off its coast (discovered in the 1980s). However, it was not economically viable with the technology at the time to extract it.

I am not disagreeing but in the US fracking oil accounts for less then half of our oil consumption and I'm sure much less around the world. That means that the majority of oil is still drilled.

Very little actually. Right now the USA produces about 80% of its oil domestically. The rest we primarily import from Canada, Mexico, and Venezuela (Venezuelan oil output is in collapse now though).

What does come from the Mideast is pretty much limited to the East Coast refineries, which are geared for Mideast crude (low viscosity and low sulfur content). This however, has been offset by those trains full of oil coming in from Texas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and the Dakotas.

The refineries out West are geared towards refining heavy crude (think of stuff that has the consistency of asphalt when cold), which comes from places like Mexico.

I have become convinced she is never held accountable for anything. She can do whatever she wants and still get blind support. How someone of such little accomplishment if any has this backing is amazing. This story as many others will fade in a few days. She is the true Teflon don.

Frankly, I don't know how these 70 year olds do it to begin with. I'm 15 years younger and I know I couldn't. And then being president is a grueling job, if you actually do it, unlike GWB who went to bed early and left presidenting to Cheney.

LOL and look how great that turned out. I personally believe we will not see another Republican President until all the bigots are dead which will be close to never.

It's funny how people howl about their taxes being high but never actually justify that. JC's are average, 2.216%, and Hoboken is on the low side, 1.313%. Hoboken could pay their way with no aid and still be well under 2%. Food for thought, no?

I don't think the measuring tax burden by percentage of property value (ie, Equalized Tax Rate) is pointless, but I agree with your point that high taxes can lower property values and low taxes can raise them.

I think therefore that tax relief for the most tax-burdened towns in NJ is desperately needed. High-tax, low-school spending towns like Prospect Park, Bound Brook etc are being wrecked by their tax burdens. People living there are seeing the values of their homes (their biggest assets) steadily diminish.

The point of state aid is to allow struggling towns to stabilize their taxes and arrest spirals of decline, but under the Christie/Abbott regime, there's no redistribution of state aid. Taxes steadily increase in towns that are already overburdened and their declines deepen.

http://njeducationaid.blogspot.com/20 ... y-wealth-in-njs-most.html

Doesn't it all come back to jobs? With a stronger economy less aid is needed. You can point to all the job reports you want this recovery is not what we are expected believe

A lot of this is being pushed by suburban towns-many of them Democrat strongholds, like Maplewood/South Orange, the Montclairs, Dover, that are getting bled dry by funding Abbott schools and getting little state support. It's not just rich Morris and Somerset County towns that are getting squeezed and seeing Newark and JC get $1.5 billion dollar/year with abysmal graduation rates (while spending way over the state average as well per student).

lol. the clintons did not benefit from the clinton foundation....the money raised by the clinton foundation went to help people in poor countries! get real!

i'd be more concerned she rented property she owned to her campaign and then raised the rent on the space 5X once the donations started rolling in. talk about self-dealing

LOL... funny, the Clinton's have lived in Public Housing most of their professional lives... They ran a B&B their first go round in the White House renting out Lincoln Bedroom.

For Bill tagging Denise Rich, Streisand or Sarandon who stayed over was just a plus, if they also paid.

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_an ... clinton_many_of_bill.html

Hillary and Bill made money off your property! Chump change today... Concerned yet???
ae you saying that political patronage started with the clintons? if so, not true

You need to lookup the definitions of political patronage and quid pro quo. Ambassador appointments have been going on for years right or wrong. The apparent conflict of interest between the Clinton State, her Staff and the donations from NGOs (Goldman Sachs) and countries to the Clinton Foundation leaves them open minimally to corruption charges..
maybe they will be charged with treason.
J
Lol. Corruption, really! Doesn't trump think e'll be able to walk on water if elected

Apparently Hillary believes she can
