This mall is a dump and a haven for inner city thugs and BTW, the security detail isn't any better.

You can't beat that part of the story where the security guard let that lowlife go because he displayed empty pockets???????, Joke right???????

If mall managment really wanted to get serious about the loitering that goes on there, they could, its done in other malls nationwide.

I've said it before, you could fill this mall with all the Gucci and D&G stores and it still would be a dump because of the element that frequents it!

PS:I guess parking fees don't keep em out either???

ANOTHER REASON WHY THE REST OF JERSEY CITY SHOULD SEPERATE ITSELF FROM THIS SECTION OF TOWN.

THERES ABSOLUTLEY NO HOPE FOR THIS SECTION AND THE LOWLIVES THAT CALL IT HOME(This excludes some of the hard working residents that have to live there).

The govt can dump all the money it wants into these neighborhoods and it won't mean crap!

What a shame!

Hey Toejam

You might want to take some of your own advise before pontificating on how the cops should practice some humility.

That is, give us all a break with your "We're lucky that yuppies live in JC".

Heres a little "Heads Up", JC survived before your pompass Ass lived here and will survive after you leave, so get over your dillusion that "The yuppies" are the best thing that ever happened to JC.

As far as the old school mentality, I agree, things need to improve drastically and accountability has to be upfront.

Now go back and annoy your neighbors.....

Are you really only going to pay $204 a year in taxes ? I don't think you moving will put a dent in the population trend here in Jersey City but this town probably isn't for you. You had to have lived here all your life to understand the logistics of the way things are done around here. If you were originaly from Brooklyn and you did say "heading back home" then you should have survived living here in J.C. Good luck and let us know how you made out.

it's the elephant in the room of every one of their crime stories, and it needs to be addressed.

6. As mayor he stationed uniformed police outside all polling

7. After losing the mayoral election of 1985 he glued all the locks in city hall and defecated on his desk before he left.

8. He has repeatedly trolled nursing homes and coerced seniors into voting absentee for him which is illegal. He is so good at manipulating the elders and infirm that he has been hired by other politicians to help them do it.

9. We are sick of politicians blaming teacher?s salaries for citizen?s financial woes when it is the POLITICIANS and BANKERS who bear the vast majority of blame.

I hate to say it,but its in the fabric of this nation, being a multi-cultural country, atleast on the east and west coast, makes for a boiling pot, not a melting pot as most politicians would love for all of us to believe.

Yes, violence is worldwide, but nowhere at the rate found here in the US.We have the largest prison population in the entire world. These prisons don't rehabilitate, they fester and breed violence which spills into the streets.

Until the politicians start growing some balls and stop catering to political correctness, more acts of violence like this will continue.

Crime is so severe in these parts of JC that civil rights should be suspended and marshal law should be implemented, no one should be on the streets past sundown!

F**** both of you. There are very good and hard working people who live in these neighborhoods. Racist CACs. Suddenly anyone from Greenville or Bergen/Lafayette is uncivilized? JC should separate itself from Downtown since it's infested with a bunch of half assed wannabe Manhattanites who do nothing but complain and whine about trivial BS.

The truth Suxx, doesn't it???, btw its not an attack on the few good hard working residents in those sections, but overall its what keeps JC down and from becoming a major player in the state and nation with regards to quality of life and overall economics.

I agree Bar owners should set the bar high for the type of patrons they allow in, but with the economy being what it is and competition extremley cut throat I doubt they will.

Bottom line keep your eyes open and avoid the lowlifes anytime you walk into a bar here in JC.

Hey Inmac

Raise Gas tax?, Huhm, thats what gets Politicians thrown out of office, not withstanding that an over taxed state like NJ doesn't really need another tax increase on goods.I guess you were sleeping during "Civics 101" class?

But then again someone who has to attack someone's physical appearance because they don't have the mental capacity to provide a valid point has no CLASS!

You don't own or drive a car in NJ, do you?????

Getting back to the point, heres another lesson for someone like yrself, Spending more money than what you take on makes for very , very bad bussiness practice, you can learn that in Economics 101, another class you must have flunked!

Time to revamp NJT if as a state we're really serious about correcting our economic woes, starting with firing all Management and bringing people who actually know how to run a bizz!

Thats my 2 cents.

If you are capable of it.
Ah yes, you are the master of the simplistic analysis. How many people can get to/from their jobs, go shopping, take vacations, transport their freight, etc conveniently in New Jersey via public transportation vs those that can't? It's a fact that millions of people can't solely use public transportation to carry out their lives.
Yeah, Inmac loves to quote chapter & verse, but doesn't have the common sence to deal with the reality of the problem and that is, NJT is an over inflated entity that thorws millions out the window because, its really not their money its the tax payer's and for once we have a get tough Gov who is saying enough is enough NJT, you created the mess now you fix it! Actually -- the one being idealistic is you. T-bird is the pragmatist in this discussion. He's talking about real problems with a candidate for office, Gerry McCann; and you're throwing generalities about politicians' egos back at him. Further, he's recommending a real solution, voting McCann's felonious self out of office. One can agree or disagree with that. But idealistic it is not.

Regardless of past accomplishments, a convicted felon should not have a hand in how a $600million budget is spent, especially if the potential losers in all of this are our children.

We can debate semantics, I call it realism, you can call it what ever you like, bottom line Gerry has nothing to prove, go back to my original point, no need to stray from the subject.I prefer someone who can get the job done, to me thats being pragmatic, who cares whats in their closet?.

There is a big difference between a well-intentioned official with personal failings (that's part of being human) and an egomaniacal narcissistic sociopath. Relativity fail.

Odd that you would pick Clinton, though. He shares many of McCann's personality traits. Clinton succeeded because he surrounded himself with an army of apologists and enablers. Seems like McCann has the same M.O., based on testimonies such as yours.

When I would read about how the local apparatus would dig deeper and deeper into the toilet to dredge up candidates I used to think the joke was on us. Now I've come to realize it's worse: we are the joke.

No more - time to flush the toilet. Time to insist on a minimum level of decency. Time for our schools to be lead by people who live honest, decent lives and serve out of a sense of obligation to make their community a better place. That's why I'll vote for Waterman, Lester and one other like-minded candidate TBD on April 20 and hope to God that McCann makes it down the drain for good this time.

Unfortunatley, the reality and the wake up call is that "NO" politician comes with a Halo attached to their head if thats what you expect in a politician, than you might be best served voting in a Priest.

Prime Example, Bill Clinton, lets face it, he's not going to inducted into SaintHood by any stretch of the imagination, but was able to get the Job done while being "The Prez"...

History isn't going to judge a politician by what they liked to smoke , snort, or jump into bed with, rather what their accomplishments were or lack thereof.

So if anything we need to rid ourselves of these dilussions of "The perfect candidate" and wake up because thats reality!
