We ordered again and while I previously said the breads were bland and we couldn't tell them apart. Well, not true this past time. Breads were great. Now we're waiting to try the lamb dishes.

Also the takeout containers were changed from black and flat to clear round ones that you get your wonton soup in. I think we preferred the black and flat, as it was easier to get stuff out. Minor, I know.

With great anticipation, we had take out/delivery last night. Usually we order Rasoi, but was glad to have indian nearby. In strict comparison purposes with Rasoi, it is good. The portions are smaller but so are the prices. The food was very good, especially given that it was the second day open. Only complaint was that breads were a little bland. Couldn't tell which was which and we had three different kinds. I did notice that they could have had a couple more people working front of house.

We are psyched to have quality indian so close and now they will be getting 50% of our indian orders.

Both of these posts are absolutely untrue!

Bobby Cotter is absolutely committed to the City of Jersey City's growth as well as preserving it's historic fabric.

He works 60 hours / week and is not particularly well-compensated.

He's never been involved on HCDO politics (nor in the Hudson County or State of NJ GOPs).

He has no say whatsoever over the timing of road work in Jersey City.

And he certainly has never taken any paybacks from developers or businesses involved in development projects in Jersey City.

The two of you clearly have no idea of the many projects he has worked to stop or to have redesigned when the original documents show unattractive structures or a plan will have advese effects on surrounding neighborhoods.

Is that you, Bob?

The owner was not so accommodating to me a couple of months ago. I was going around to the retail outlets downtown and placing really cool event calendars on behalf of Transportation Alternatives. The calendar told of bike races, fun events etc.
Every retail outlet but Two Aprons let me place calendars in their stores. They were thin and small and not cumbersome. I asked him nicely and he said, oh no I don't think that would be okay. I decided that it would be okay if I didn't put my $ in his pocket as well.

Oh in purjeds defense, that is a stupid place for a table, there is no room. You do have to walk over the doors to get by. Someone slips on that and he's going to be held accountable I would think.
And purjed ask him to take table away and if he won't then take it from there.

But that's just my experience.

The one table has grown to two tables and now most mornings there is a stroller on the metal doors and a guys feet sticking out from the chair blocking the entire sidewalk so I walk in the street. As for why I don't say something to them directly, it will result in them muttering "*sshole" as I walk by. I would rather they see this post and move the tables on their own.

Two Aprons Sidewalk Permit

Every morning on my way to work I have to walk around the table(s) out side of Two Aprons that they have stuck under the tree in the middle of the sidewalk.

I am all for a nice mom and pop store and wish them the best, but I hate having to either walk in the street or step on the steel doors to the basement. If they have a permit for the table, aren't they supposed to put it next to their storefront?

Please keep the sidewalk clear. I don't know how Moms with strollers get by.

They will start the playground right after the DEP destroys it with their plan that they tried to squeeze by the community with out us noticing. That was a fun public information meeting!

How can Guy claim he doesn't run a negative campaign after running an ad like the back cover of the JC reporter. I listened to him at the HPHA (no. not the HPNA) meeting and the Guy kept talking in circles about friends in high places and I kept thinking does this guy really think that's a smart move? I felt like the "guy" thought claiming he was in the mafia would get votes. Sorry Guy, that was a terrible strategy. You sounded like you should be on the payroll of the Sopranos.

Oh and by the way, Guy, your fake Fulop ad still looked better than yours.

I gotta say that when I got take out and they forgot 4 tacos, I called came back and they gave me the tacos plus a gift certificate for $15.

It's just like going to the SoupNazi. It's the quirkiness that gives its authenticity. And since the food is good, they are doing something right.

I do vote for another highchair. I will even offer to spraypaint it.

PS. Please post my posting on the wall.

Plan new park at river's edge in Jersey City
Thursday, April 09, 2009
By AMY SARA CLARK
JOURNAL STAFF WRITER
A Jersey City parks group has released a plan to create a 9-acre waterfront park with a continuous walkway from the Goldman Sachs building to the Korean War Memorial on Washington Street.

The plan, created by the architectural firms Starr Whitehouse and nArchitects, was commissioned by the Jersey City Waterfront Parks Conservancy, a group formed two years ago to preserve and enhance open spaces on Jersey City's waterfront.

The proposed park, drawn up with input from the Downtown community, connects six parcels of parkland that are either in disrepair, rapidly eroding or not currently open to the public, officials said. The one-mile walkway will feature a bridge to the War Memorial.

The plan also includes a floating island, a wet meadow, and several points of access to the water's edge.

There is also a dog run, gardens, slides, swings, two pavilions, restrooms and a venue for concerts, puppet shows or other events.

The group is currently developing an estimate of how much the plan would cost, but group spokesman Patrick Johnson said expenses should run in the tens of millions of dollars. Johnson said the group hopes to use state and federal grants.

The parcels are currently owned by the city, the state and a neighborhood association, officials said. Johnson said the next step is to get these entities and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to sign onto the plan.

"The Mayor's Office and the Division of City Planning were presented with the plan to connect the parks about a week ago and the city will be working with the Conservancy to help advance their plan," city spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said.
