You all misunderstood me. I know what is in downtown JC -I live there. Its all cookie cutters with no character. I am SIMPLY SAYING that there is nothing - other than the power arts district - anything with character. RELAX

I looked at Canco and they are gorgeous. However, they are in the middle of nowhere. And if anybody thinks that journal square will be revitalized any time soon, they have another thing coming. Its a shame they don't have housing like that in downtown JC; but I would rather live in a typical condo then in that part of town. And the SmartCar just got a bad crash rating today in the news, so there you have it.

Metro Dogs does it all. No, I don't own them, I use them - but I am very happy with them. And I have a cat that they will take care of when I'm out of town too. Good luck!

I will say it again - use these guys, they are all the things that you're looking for and they're great and SAFE:

I would recommend Metro Dogs. They're very nice people who truly care about dogs. Not just claim that they care about dogs and then let them run around unsupervised where the dog can get injured. My dog LOVES them. http://www.metrodogs.biz/

Trust me - I used a few others in downtown JC and they let the dogs run around on their own and get injured. These guys will treat your dogs like their own.

If you could find anything in Paulus Hook - there is this great space on the corner of Warren & Morris - you should look there - or the space where LIFE is and soon will be was. There are soooo many dogs in that particular area - I bet you would do well there. Good luck! We need something within walking distance.

Watch your taxes go up now, crime will continue to get worse, the school where I voted was a JOKE - but I'm willing to bet that most of you on this site didn't vote yesterday. I did - and I'm pissed that he won. But I can be because I got off my ass and tried to do something about it.

This happened Saturday night to a friend and I as we tried to cross Columbus and Warren. This pig from NY in a beat up Mitsubishi totally aimed at us. I guess she didn't realize that pedestrians have right of way - but there are NEVER any cops when you need them. In fact, the only place I see them is at the PATH station when they go rummaging through my bag - of course I was wearing my birka when this happened...

The fact is that when (if) a pit bull bites, its going to be a lot worse than when a yorkie bites (although they do draw blood). Point is no matter how sweet pit bulls/chows/whatever is on this list are - they still have a bad rap. And everyone who says its the owners fault is correct - it is, but in this country we don't do sh*t about it, and put the dogs to sleep. Off my soapbox now....

MYBEAT - he is 17 - he's not a "child." 17 year olds are having children these days. I am sorry his leg got severed, it sucks - but he SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THERE - that is my and Skepticalhook's and LoKo's POINT....relax. It wasn't your leg.

I'm sure I'm going to be called racist for this - but the majority of pit bull owners in HOUSING PROJECTS - use the dogs to terrorize other people; hence the ban. I have a big dog that doesn't fall under the category of "banned dogs," and he's a mush. Its the little ankle biters that are more dangerous. Those stupid yorkies with the bows in their hair - horrible....

PSE&G is subject to the jurisdiction of the NJ board of public utilities - you can call 973-648-2350 or 800-624-0241 to complain. I'm really not sure how much good it will do, but you can try. PSE&G does suck. They're rip-off artists and if I didn't like American Idol so much - I'd read books by candlelight !

Call this number: 1-800-357-2262 - its the credit department, but play stupid and tell them you want to pay your last bill and get the address changed. They'll transfer you over and you won't get cut off. I'm doing it right now for something else.....I hate PSEG - they suck and they rip you off for EVERYTHING

Skeptikal isn't racist - he's a realist. Harry Truman once said "the buck stops here," and took the blame for both the good and bad. If our President has no idea that HIS plane is being used for a photo op - then can we really trust him on other issues????

You guys are all making light of this - but if some random guy comes up to you after a night of drinking, or whatever, and shoves a gun in your face OR threatens to blow your head off, you would all be sh*tting in your pants. Its not funny - its tragic that this should be going on in our neighborhood.

Jersey City resident's wallet taken by gunman
by The Jersey Journal
Tuesday April 28, 2009, 1:13 PM
A 26-year-old Jersey City man was robbed at gunpoint in Paulus Hook early Sunday, police reports said.

The victim told police a man with a bandanna covering his face walked up to him, showed him a black handgun and said "Give me all your money or I will blow your head off," reports said.

More about the bandanna masked gunman who robbed the Jersey City man in today's Jersey Journal.

Now you owe me a date and you have to pick me up in Air Force 1.

You can leave the non-Saab at home you northeast latte-drinking, Scandanavian car-driving, yuppie bistro-frequenting liberal... but really, pick me up tonite. Off to White Mana in Air Force One, suckaz.

Alanwright - you are so in love with me. Lets get some things straight - I can't drink coffee - gives me the jitters; my car is Japanese; I am hardly liberal. And if I WERE to pick you up in Air Force One - it would have been under the Bush Administration when things were done right - no fly-by's without telling anybody. Apparently Bo wanted to see the statue of liberty with Sasha and the other one. So I'll meet you there in four years when this idiot is out of office.....

I do think its a great edition to the neighborhood. And Dave, the owner's son, is very genuine when he says that he is open to all suggestions. I met him right after they opened and he seems true to his word.

Good luck guys!

BS - the Yankees have a no facial hair, no long hair rule - if they don't want to be on the team than they don't have to be. But if they want the job, they comply. Are you saying that the Yankees are interfering with religious practices????
