This definition of all races and backgrounds is hilarious. All kinds of whities is what this person meant.

we have brinks too. we signed up for two years and got 29.95 a month. make sure you put the sign out front whichever one you get. the sign and sound are what are useful. by the time the service calls all your contacts and then the police, and then wait for the police to get there, whoever broke in will be gone.

Since you are all on the Internet anyway, i thought you might enjoy checking out this interactive show. It is at blogtv.com, from 12-3pm every day, and it is called What Just Happened? You can go to blogtv.com and just watch as a guest or you can sign in and chat while the show is happening. It is done from Jersey City, so there is local stuff sometimes. And yes I am related to the person doing it, but it is not me.

On our unit and the ground floor apt we put in a door with glass panes on the top, but we put a lock on that is keyed on both sides. That way, when the tenants aren't home, even if someone puts their fist through the door glass, they won't be able to unlock the door. When you are home, keep your key out of reach of an arm through the window, but someplace you can get to it quickly in case of an emergency. If you have a french door, this may be a very easy way to make it much harder for anyone to break in. Your landlord should definitely be willing to do that at the very least. We also have an alarm system from Brinks that costs 29 a month on our unit. It was free to have installed except for the 45 permit you need.

Ok. of course right after i post this, i have a bad experience with Garden State Gutter Cleaning.
They were supposed to come last week and they didn't call or show up, so I called them today and left a message saying since no one called or showed up that i wanted to cancel. The guy called me back at work using caller id, not the number i had left with him, and was pretty rude.
I am so sorry that this just happened and i hope if you already called them capn jon that they do not treat you this way. I had never had this problem in the past.

I wish she would fume about the abandoned lots near the lsp light rail. There are racoons and kittens and rats hanging out there. Maybe if one of the racoons gave someone rabies and they needed medical attention, THEN she would get on it.

800.508.5044

I just called them today as we had some leaking this morning due to the gutters probably never having been cleaned in the house we bought recently.

They cleaned and eventually replaced the gutters in our old place - it depends on how big the house is i think as to how much it costs.

If you want you can tell them the patton's in JC referred you.

the LGBT center in ny has an amazing array of support group meetings. judging by jclist.com alone i'd say we need all the help we can get here in jc (myself of course included).
"friendoflois"- was that bill w.'s wife? i always forget her name.

I recently moved out of his district, and i cannot BEGIN to tell you how much I miss him.
I have never even seen or heard one peep from my councilmember. It's the one thing i really miss from downtown, that and Pam from Downtown Watch:)
And the one big complaint when he was running was, "he's ambitious."
well "hell ya" to that. it means he will get stuff done. as much as he possibly can without the other councilmembers and corp counsel getting in the way. i learned a great deal by working for a rather effective councilmember in washington dc, and i've found that you can tell a good councilmember by these two things:
1) the legislation that they produce/support
2) constituent services
on both counts he is really great.
And if you were at the council meeting where they voted on the pay to play leg, you also have to admit he is by far the most eloquent councilmember.

i don't own a car and I do fine. I just take my cart on the light rail to shop rite or my husband and i walk to pathmark if it's a nice day. I think with the hotel and convention center and liberty harbor being built nearby more choices will show up. I am always hoping a whole foods will open along the light rail by jersey ave or essex stop.Quote:

I know newlafayette mentioned not going north of Pacific. What the east/west boundaries be considered?

I live on Whiton between Lafayette and Maple. I walk around at all hours, but I avoid the blocks around the park on Johnston, meaning when I go to the light rail i walk down maple then cross over monitor to johnston, the blocks of johnston between pine and whiton are sketchy. But I moved here from Monmouth/4th downtown and it is MUCH quieter here than it was there.

We TRIED to go to this place.
The sign on the door posted their hours, which we were well within at 3:30pm, and they had an open sign in the door, and we were greeted and told they were closed and if we wanted we could come back after 5pm, even though there were two other tables eating in there.
I won't ever go back. Suck it Sawadee.
We went to Sushi Tango instead and had a really great meal.

maybe it is because i am italian and from secaucus where they are a favorite.
they are gross, and they usually have that glass panel in the front door with the gold scroll inset and the ugly white or brassy iron railings. uggh.
someone told me the reason they are so popular is that an architect in bayonne sells the plans super cheap.

I would not go past pacific. I live one block closer to LSP light rail than pacific, and walking around this neighborhood (i am a relatively young, small woman) I find that going out past pacific (toward lafayette park) or south past communipaw begins to get dicey and far from public transportation.
I come home sometimes at 1am from the LSP light rail stop and walk the few blocks to my home. I have never had any problems, but I am aware and I carry pepper spray on my key chain and have it out and ready to go just in case.
You need to just be aware of your surroundings and try to come home together if you are going to be out late.
Most of the crime in this area is drug/gang related, as in any big city.
Also, with the foundry, the new condos going in on johnston, pine, and maple, the area is getting safer.
Summit is a lot farther out than that though.

This may be farther from exchange than you wanted, but my husband and i are just finishing renovating a one bedroom in our two family home. it is three blocks from liberty state park light rail, near the foundry condos. the money you would save in rent would make up for the extra light rail stops. Everything is brand new, including washer/dryer in unit. the rent is under a thousand a month plus gas and electric- we pay for the water and we pay to heat the hot water. No fees, but we would need a one-month security deposit.
