Re: Unbelievable, the 99s will get slower

The Coach USA buses on Pallisades are getting really sketchy as of late. I saw one this morning that was marked as being Newark Airport Express but it's sign read "PA Bus Terminal". I didn't get on it. The other day there was a bus with no number & just said "Port Authority". I took a chance & got on that. My guess is tha Coach USA uses whatever bus is left at their station at the end of the morning to do the 99s run on Palisades.

.... I could tell in your previous post in this thread that your fingers were just aching to type those words. It was just a matter of time til you got brazen enough & showed your true feelings.

Are you implying that the "smell of curry" permeates throughout the "little India" area? Or is it really the people that you are implying that "smell of curry"? Seems to me the latter & not the former. Either way, sounds ignorant.

I'd rather side w/ caution then find out 20yrs later that my home is the reason I'm developing a tumor. Good job Lisa. Lets see how long the rules last before lobbiest force her to capitulate.

I understand why the proposal was made to convert passive park space to active space. But given the demographics of the locale, I don't think volleyball/tennis courts would get much use. Then again, what do I know...

Here is a thought and I am not sure if I am understanding it correctly-

If tax revenues are capped at 4% increases annually and,

Jersey City municipal tax revenues increase by more than the 4% due to new development coming on line and tax abatement agreements disproportionatley funneling more revenue into the city,

Could the cap effectively push down the taxes on Jersey City conventionally taxed properties?

In effect, is this not a spending cap, while revenues should grow?

Would this scenario, now actually change the tax abatement arguements (for the positive?) , though other Hudson County municipalities may really scream now.

I thought about this too the other day. If property taxes are cut for non-abated properties, will the taxes on PILOTs reduce also? or are they stuck at a higher rate regardless of what others are paying?

A government official stealing $50 bucks?

If you're going to risk your lively-hood & reputation, I should hope that it's for more than $50 bucks a pop.

Maybe corruption isn't as big a $$$ maker as we all thought. Then again, this guy could just be an idiot.
