I don't see the beauty in stuff like the fence on Erie around 4th street where someone spray painted "Honky Begone". It's been there a while.

I imagine if someone spray painted a swastika, or a racist term for any other group of people, it would cause some sort of hue and cry and get removed, no?

I saw that "Honky Begone" grafitti and I left. I guess that incantation worked!!!

Crap like this isn't graffiti, it's vandalism.

According to Merriam Webster, Graffiti is " unauthorized writing or drawing on a public surface "

What's your definition? Where does it come from?

This place is terrible. The chicken is undercooked-they haven't even started cooking it yet. The service is super-slow. I'm still waiting to place an order.

Does anyone know if there is a map of the recently marked "bike routes"? Where do they lead to? I'd hope it would be Lucky Sevens, but I saw some up in the heights and wouldn't be suprised if the route terminated by sending cyclists off a cliff or something.

This is a different place. Yes, grove path, it is the place with the one-armed guy. He goes by the name "Ahmed". I think they own a gas station somewhere around here, too. They're Pakistani. You know, in some countries you lose an arm for...

That store front has quite history with (alleged) terrorist activity, dating back to the first bombing of the WTC. I recall seeing in years past, mainstream media shows like Dateline and/or 20/20 giving news coverage to that store and other parts of J.C.

For instance, a quick search pulled up this:
http://www.stopbretschundler.com/Terrorists.htm

---

Mohammed Rajaa Malik, 52, a local businessman and former Jersey City Zoning Board member, donated $1,000 to Schundler's primary campaign in the name of his store, One Stop Shop Market, also known as Grove Liquor and Deli, on Grove Street, election records show. ( across from City Hall )

Malik, also known as "Mike," and Diaa Mohsen, 57, were arrested June 12 by federal agents after they attempted to buy weapons, including Stinger missiles, from undercover officers, officials said. Mohsen faces possible charges of arms dealing and money laundering, while Malik faces a possible arms dealing charge. Prosecutors plan to ask that bail be denied for the two at today's hearing in federal court in Florida.

New York Post, 9/23/01 "Thirteen of the men detained by federal authorities investigating the Sept 11th attacks are from northern New Jersey, some from the Jersey City neighborhood that was home to suspects from the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. ... Terrorists experts and law enforcement officials said the New Jersey communities -- particularly Jersey City - are breeding grounds for terrorist activity because they are close to New York, offer affordable rents and have large immigrant populations where terrorists can blend in......

Some neighbors said the men ( Ayub Khan and Mohammed Azmath ) - like many of the other Arab-Americans in the city - prayed a block away at the Mas Jid Al-Salaam mosque on Kennedy Boulevard, where blind cleric Omar Abdel Rahman - the convicted mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing - once preached." FAB: Did you read this part?

Jersey City Police Chief Tom Comey also advocated the use of CCTV cameras to combat "quality-of-life crimes," though he also emphasized their primary role is combating violent crime.

i hear taco bell is subject to board of health regulations, too. and look how well that turned out!

I would think that tainted produce at several locations would be a US Dept. of Agriculture issue. Besides, those locations were shut down while the problem was being addressed, presumably by the local health officials. I don't recall the tattoo shop ever getting shut down.

What's that supposed to mean? I would hazard a guess that you've never been inside a tattoo shop. Both of the two regular tattooers are experienced talented professionals and the shop itself is subject to board of health regulations. Also, the shop is on 2nd street, dick.

-What is still 4.75?
Anyway all of this used to be less than 6.00 ROUND TRIP like 2 years ago. I was shocked when it went up from there, so now this is just OUTRAGEOUS. Not even worth it...u can take the Path for 1.50 and walk to Wall Street within 15 minutes.

Who on earth can afford this?

Maybe if you spent more time working and less time posting on jclist you could afford it.

Try A-1 at 973 672 4525 or American Tank at 973 678 6108. It should cost inside of $1500 as long as it is a 550 gallon or smaller tank, does not have a leak, and is easily accessable. Also, there may be aaditional charges if it has to be emptied.
