Good question, but the main contractor is a big Fulop donor so they are probably working on another job for the last few years.

Base of St Paul's Ave, go to Tonnelle and take St Paul's all the way down to where the PSE&G complex is and make a right.

Many long streets around there where ppl practice driving, the evenings and weekends that area is empty.

Cluster fuck traffic nightmare today around this area.

Jersey City pitches $180M plan to buy 100-acre riverfront site

The Jersey Journal

JERSEY CITY ? Jersey City is considering whether to buy the 100-acre Bayfront site on the Hackensack River waterfront, a potentially $180 million plan that Mayor Steve Fulop told council members would be an "aggressive" albeit expensive way to ensure a large amount of affordable housing on the city's west side.

http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... e.html#incart_river_index

"The city would act as the master developer, potentially divvying the land up among multiple developers."

Polish president visits N.J. statue at center of trans-Atlantic row

Updated 6:41 PM; Posted 6:27 PM
By Terrence T. McDonald tmcdonald@jjournal.com
The Jersey Journal

JERSEY CITY ? Polish President Andrzej Duda stopped at Exchange Place on Wednesday as Jersey City and the region's Polish community remained locked in a fight over the city's plan to relocate the Katyn monument.

http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... -.html#incart_2box_hudson

Councilman Rich Boggiano, who wants the statue to remain, called the ambassador a "piece of s***" for agreeing with the city's plan to move it.

What an amazingly insensitive additions to a lovely set of buildings.

If there was an architect, they did not try very hard to incorporate the new additions to add interest to either the top nor to the sides of the existing buildings. Just sort of plopped a few boxes on top of the roofs.

Too bad. Either it was the architect's fault or a developer who was too cheap to be creative.

WTF Sherm ? they truly went the distance with the brick and blue stone facade restoration in accordance with the Historic Districts designation and are merely asking 500k for a 2 bedroom that overlooks lovely Lincoln Park in a very exclusive 16 unit dogma free environment!!!

#Bless

"The building is located inside Jersey City's West Bergen-East Lincoln Park Historic District, and even though the developer's plans were in place prior to the historic designation, pains were taken to keep the historical integrity of the building. For example, custom-made wood windows were produced to match the existing ones and the brick and blue stone facade was restored."

Just another example of her ability to lie and change position on literally any subject. She changed position and became against it after it blew up in the mayor's face and her minions started filing lawsuits. In the end, nobody will remember this whole thing in a couple of months and Yvonne will have once again been served a humiliating loss.

I saw the bad news this week in the JJ a CLOSING STORE advertisement for the KMART on Rt. 440. Up to 70% off the odd thing was there was also a now hiring seasonal workers line at the bottom. Hmmm. I thought it may be one of those scams where because of the 130 Sears/Kmart stores closing nationwide they would use the CLOSING STORE as a flimflam to draw you in. Well it was true there is a big STORE CLOSING sign up on the front of KMART. I went inside and sure enough everything is marked as sale and some shelves are already empty. (was looking for deals on Craftsman tools)

I have been going to KMART since I guess the 70?s always a good place to pick up a few things. (and yes the cashier lines were just as sloooow and long back then) I used to enjoy the little KMART Caf? inside but that was removed maybe 15 years ago. The greatest Sunrise Surprise Breakfast Platter of all times!!! (thank you Ethel)

I asked around inside the store and someone said it is not a corporate thing it is a lease issue and the landlord wants them out. (just a rumor) I looked at the JC tax increase list and I think the property taxes are going up 200K. Maybe the landlord is looking for a rent increase or maybe they are fishing around for new tenants because of the coming Bayfront project?don?t know.

5/13/2018 ? Someone also said its last day is 90 days from today. (again just a rumor)

KMART will be added to the list of these lost rt 440 department stores.
