Security System Recommendations?
#61

Just can't stay away

Hi!

I am new to the Jersey City Heights area, and just bought a multi-family house.

I was wondering if anyone had recommendations or thoughts on Security Systems for their home. I see various signs about ADT, etc around the neighborhood.

Any advise, thoughts, recommendation, non-recommendation, or price would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

I am all about legit and safer ways of transportation like light rail or more frequent buses.

For me, I ride the 10/99s from central to Port Authority daily in the morning. But on those rare occasions when I miss the bus, I can just rush over to shady bus on JFK and make it over to work on time.

But I agree, the service is a risk on the road for everyone.

It's a catch 22 almost, but I have to say, it's really nice and tempting to use it as a backup service, so you don't have to wait an hour for the next official bus.

So guilty as charged :(

Oh no, I rely on those to commute sometimes. I call it the "shady bus". Anyone else have an update on this, I hope they didn't take it all away.

Thanks guys for the quick feedback. Looks like I need to get a bike. My final destination is around the Hoboken area as that seem to have a lot of useful shops (sleepy's, ace hardware, and a few places to eat) :)

Thanks again!

New to Area: How to get from Central to Hoboken Path area?

Hello,

I'm new to the JC Heights area. I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction in terms of how to get from Central/Griffith area to the Hoboken PATH area?

I see 87 bus as an option, but it's a lot of walking and very little bus riding. Is there some sort of mini-bus system to the Hoboken PATH as there is one to Journal SQ (mini-bus off JFK)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've been pretty much walking for 2 miles!

Thank you!

Has anyone switched to Viridian energy?

It would be wonderful if you can share your thoughts on it and the process.

Or even if someone had tried it and went back o PSEG - your thoughts are much appreciated as well.

Thank you!

Thank you very much for your recommendation. I ended up using Family Landscaping as you had suggested. Due to logistics, I actually had to pay them BEFORE the job (because I was unable to be there during the job). After handing them a wad of cash and access to my house, they actually showed up and did the whole job like I had asked. So there is definitely a point for trustworthiness. I came home to less trees and I was not robbed - all positives.

The clean-up could have been better but it's a small job and not too upsetting.

So all in all, if you want someone to do a tree cutting job - they are nice, professional, and trustworthy. Just expect a bit of branches here and there and your garden plants might need to be revived a bit. I'm sure it might be the same for any company.

grade A for Family Landscaping.

OMG. I saw this go down (I live on Griffith) and THIS WAS MY BACKYARD they are talking about. The suspect actually opened my fence, stomped on two of my trash can lids, and jumped over my backyard fence!

Such a nice welcome as I just moved in a month ago :)

Tree Removal Recommendation?

Hi,

I've just moved to the area! I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a nice cheap tree removal service. (with stump grinding)

I only have a:
1) 5 inch diameter tree
2) 3 inch diameter tree

It's so small that I could imagine doing it myself, I just wanted to see if someone can do it for cheap so I don't have to go through the hassle.

Thanks so much in advance!
