No smoking means no smoking...period. I bet the city didn't read into the purpose of the establishment properly, probably just thought it was another coffee shop.

I think the city has a pretty good idea of what's going on inside Abbey's. Unless, of course, you think they go about finding information the same way you do - sitting around wondering about things and making shit up.

Ferries, tugs, and other so equipped watercraft in the river and harbor. Considering the (dissipating?) thick fog and measly marker lights on local boata, I'd say yes, it's necessary.

Some idiot smashed into my tail light tonight. Anyone know where to get parts like that around Hudson County? Doesn't necessarily have to be new.

Why can't they just run single track like they do at night?

1. Not even the most effeminate dude in JC would name himself "snowflake20".

2. Not even the most awful boring dad in JC would take every chance possible to talk about his kids online, as snowflake20 does. It's a woman.

That said, as a former child of parents, please folks: Don't let your kids see you naked. They do not want to see that shit.

Nah, the route used by the light rail was always a railroad.

What disappeared between Jersey City and Hoboken? I know they rearranged some stuff around the freight crossing, but I don't think any routes disappeared.

It's not just a short cut, it's the main route to 280 since they closed access from Tonnelle Circle and moved the onramp to St. Paul's Avenue by the railroad tracks.

I drive through this intersection every day, and it's extremely dangerous for pedestrians. The sidewalk dips down steeply towards the road and there is a traffic box and poles that obscures drivers' vision of pedestrians trying to cross.

There's always a crazy (but effective) crossing guard there at this time. I wonder what happened.

I got sprayed this summer. I don't know if it had anything to do with its temperament, it sprayed me when I ran over it with my bike. It really sucked.

A former friend asked me for a ride to his job at the theater, so I said sure. I assumed he meant the Loews in JSQ. He gets in the car and tells me he has to go to St. Marks. Seriously? I probably could have made some money if I had picked up some people at Grove.

Not to sound rude, but are you new here? Just do it. If someone says something about it later (unlikely), just say you didn't do it.

You can always call the parking authority. Use extension 100 for the enforcement unit. They're surprisingly responsive.

Cops covering construction sites are being paid by the people doing the work, not by the city. This is a well documented little scheme they have going on.

Pardon my confusion.

Your neighbor is smoking with the windows open, but it's getting into your apartment. Are we to assume the smoke is reaching your apartment through your open window?

If so, you might want to get a box fan and put it in your window, facing out, allowing air from the seams in your front door to displace the smoke-laden air in your space. I can't imagine how much smoke could possibly find its way from one apartment, out a window, through the aether of the outdoors atmosphere, and into your window that it would be the source of a significant quality of life issue, unless you're very sensitive to the smell of smoke, which I guess is possible.

You could try talking to your neighbor, if you haven't done so already. While going over his/her head to management to bitch about stuff could be perceived as a lack of decency and/or respect and doesn't put you in the best position to bang on the door and ask for favors, being a decent human being and going face-to-face with someone you have an issue with can go a very long way towards resolving differences.

P.S.: Is "multiunit managed apartment building" realtor code for "priapic douchebag highrise"? If so, please update us on every development, minor or not.

See the below link. Any neighborhood in the NY metro area (LIC, Brooklyn, wherever) would be super excited for this company to pop-up and promote the heck out of it. Its super cool and a leader in their field. They had a event this past Sunday with a art viewing, and live music in their event space. White Star provided the F&B.

When I had Comcast hooked up here, they cut some old wire and left it dangling. After a few years of putting up with their bullshit, I switched to Verizon. Their guy cut off the old Comcast wire and left that dangling. So now I have two wires in front of my house, hanging through the branches of my Verizon-Arbor-Day tree trimming special.

Apparently the ones speaking of all the mishaps on 1st Street must be new tenants, I have been living on this block for over 15 yrs amd can say yes people do get rowdy at times but they arent only the patrons of bar Indio's actually we are surrounded by 3 bars that use up the parking, that park on 1st and walk over to 2nd. As for the prostitutes you stupid, apparently you must not know downtown, you find condoms on 1st & merseles and they are labeled Indio's place..... you fail to realize that street is accessed by cars coming off newark ave or 2nd street and not everyone that does their deed are patrons from the vicinity unless you have no life and spend the time stalking everyone that walks on 1st street. The block is up and coming with new you tenants that have roof top parties and backyard gatherings I dont hear you saying anything about that, how about the hispanics that stay fixing their car outside or the hispanic kids running around I doubt they are mute. And as for the park as the Italian association why that park was never fixed its been like that since I moved her in 96. According to them they dont want the high school kids hanging there. So before you single a person place or thing know your facts. As for the one who moved to the block and didnt notice the bar at 1st please you cant miss it so stop the madness. why dont you tour jersey city and than when you see that 1st street isnt a gated community maybe you realize that things happen on the block and they arent always the patrons, did you know about the guy on colgate that abducted the girl? or are you also aware that officers live right around the corner....
