Yes you do need to either carry the disabled persons id from the DMV at all times, though it is self renewing and it's good for a few years at a time (I'm looking at my wifes card). When you go to the DMV and fill out the form to get the permanent (blue) placard you can check a box to get a plate or a placard or both.

stop signs need to be approved by the state and it's a major PITA to try and get one... unfortunately. Though I think there should be a few more stop signs along Wayne St.

Or create a system that allows the card to be scanned by the PA.

If people with plates should be exempt then why should people with placards be ticketed? There is no difference in how you get them, it's just a box you check off on the form of whether you want a plate or placard. The placards are permanent, they don't expire unless you have one of the temporary red ones.

Just bought a 1 bedroom in the C building aka "The Atrium" and couldn't be happier. Everyone in the building and complex is very nice. Maintenance requests are answered promptly even on the weekend. Our neighbors are very quiet, and we rarely hear people other than when they are walking by in the hallway. As far as I know the rodent problems they used to have are pretty much under control, and we have never had any problems with mice. If you can find a unit you like I say go for it. Try and get as much HOA fees free as you can (at least 2 years).

Motorcycle gear around JC?
Home away from home
Home away from home

I tired the Vespa dealer, but like I expected everything they have is geared towards scooters. Anyone know of a decent shop or motorcycle dealer around JC where I can pick up a new helmet and jacket?

Thanks

Had a craving for a 2 points to genius today so I went to the Hoboken location. I really hope the JC location comes back sometime in our lifetime. I liked the JC sandwiches so much better. They were larger, they toasted the bread, and was just an overall better experience. I don't need more burgers, I need my sandwiches back...

We went with a few people on opening night as well. It was nice that even though it was crowded you could still play most of the games without a wait. The only downside was that about 25% of the games only had 1 player working. I think once they can fix the games and the change machine it will be a great place.

I used to race RC cars a few years ago and was thinking about getting back into it. Anyone else in JC race RC Cars? What hobby shops to go to? Are there any tracks locally that have organized races?

Nitro or electric is fine I used to drive both....

Thanks

I agree with snowflake20 there a a lot of very inattentive oblivious drivers in JC. As a daily driver and a person who spends a lot of time riding a bike around JC I have seen it from both sides.

One thing i don't understand though is the attitude of pedestrians that they have more rights to the streets then a driver does. I understand the right of way laws, and I always stop for pedestrians in cross walks, but what makes it ok for people to just walk off the curb in the middle of a block on Columbus when they could have easily gone to a cross walk. Especially when they do it with small kids or a stroller.

I'll be moving to Dixon Mills in a month or so and was wondering if any people who own there have any inside info they want to share. I have heard of the problems with mice, is this still a big problem? How about on moving day, where can you put a u-haul? If it helps we are moving into the atrium building.

Re: Stay classy A&P

I was at A&P this weekend around the same time as well. The produce which is normally barely passable was pretty much cleaned out. I fail to see how after a week they were still not receiving new shipments when other stores in the area had been getting new deliveries.

I used to go to A&P to avoid the crowds and get better quality food, but with the steady decline in quality, rising prices, increasingly larger lines at checkout and lack of products I'll just go back to Shoprite and brave the mobs.

Does anyone know of any other grocery stores in the area? I know there is a Morton Williams in Pavonia, and a Kings in Hoboken. What other options are there?
