Re: Studio Condo resale value
Home away from home
Home away from home

I think your friend has a point, most people that rent studios downtown are usually people who want to be close to the city and when they have had enough they usually move back to wherever they came from like the Midwest, south, etc, so getting a long term tenant may be hard, people move into studios temporary they usually dont see themselves in them for very long. I personally prefer a house over a condo, but to each is own. The problem with condos downtown there are just too many of them and I have three friends right now trying to sell theirs and they can't because of all the competition. Condos downtown JC has become a little like Miami way too much stock not enough buyers.

... By Danforth its like a tunnel, I drove my bike down on Garfield next to the Bayview cemetery and there was only lights on one side of the street if anyone was walking on the other side you would never see them coming. You wonder why its dangerous to walk at night here. This city needs to act more like a city, some parts of this town looks like a ghost town.

Why is this city so dark?

Went riding the other night and noticed if your not downtown near the Grove street path, the city is very dark in the evening and the further away you go from the downtown area the darker the streets are. Even some parts of the water front are dark and not enough light.

The city today formally requested that the Hudson County Board of Taxation allow a one-year extension for the city to conduct the reval, which was expected to be completed by the end of September, with new assessments effective for 2013.
In a statement, Mayor Jerramiah Healy said the city could not conduct the reval in the current timeframe because of problems updating its tax maps and because of the number of homeowners who did not allow inspectors in their homes.

19-Year Old Republican Demetrius Terry’s Road To Council Candidacy for Greenville

At 19-years of age, Demetrius Terry isn?t always the youngest speaker during a City Council meeting?s public hearing, when residents, union reps, former pols, and business interests address the municipality?s legislative body, (often) airing concerns or (occasionally) applauding city actions. On some days, in particular when the cause is related to elementary schools, Terry will be a good 10 years older than the youngest speaker. But when it comes to issues of substance, of a concern well beyond the years of most pre-baccalaureate degree holding types ? crime, crony-ism, or taxes, not to mention layoffs, government transparency or various other pub

Re: Loitering
Home away from home
Home away from home

The funny thing about it there are signs that say no loitering all through out the city, some sections do not have the signs this is why u need to contact your councilman/woman and let them know, I just had my councilman put up signs near my home "pick up after your dog", but the loitering signs only work if the cops in this town enforce it. Yeah the gay people sit here was dumb, did not see any logic in that. Another good thing is start a block association get your neighbors involved, Greenville has a bigger advantage than any other section of JC. Greenville has the most home owners, only 40% of its residents are renters unlike downtown where only 20% are home owners and 80% are renters. Good Luck!

Some Jersey City 911 Calls Misdirected To NYC

We?ve seen lately that people in the downtown area, which is obviously only separated by the Hudson River there, depending on what the carrier is and their location to the cell towers, it could be picked up by New York City 911.

Could this be the reason police are not responding?
