JERSEY CITY -- One teen was arrested and another suffered a minor injury when a large fight broke out inside Newport Centre mall Wednesday afternoon, police said.

I have witnessed scuffles inside the mall, and in the general vicinity right outside it doors and by the light rail station. it is the main reason I avoid that mall during busy hours, choosing to only go when it is sparsely patronized. It's a shame, because that place has improved tremendously over the past few years. The new movie theater renovations were fantastic.

Understand the off hours comment... made that mistake during summer. Had dinner at the marina and crossed over to the Mall to catch a 700pm movie on a Saturday night. Walked in Cheesecake entrance to a chaotic scene with a fight on the main floor and kids hanging over the railings of the above floor throwing stuff down on mall security. Safer to go to Regal in Battery Park.
it's a real shame that so many parents are lousy parents!

How many of those parents do you think voted for Trump?

After that, you'll should have access to amazon prime, and can try out both netflix and hulu - and decide what you like and what you don't. They all have plenty of content - but you have to pay for episodes of the latest shows. A lot have people have cut the cable for internet-based tv. A good compromise might be to keep the basic channels on fios, and use netflix/hulu/amazon for shows and movies.

For phone, use your cellphone, or get a voip box like Ooma or Vonage.

All good suggestions, but you left out the idea of using an HDTV antenna for local channels. The quality of over-the-air TV is incredible with the new HDTV broadcasts. For a one-time $20 investment, you can get a decent antenna that will get you awesome local TV without having to pay Verizon a monthly fee for the same stuff.

What channels will you get with the local antenna?

JERSEY CITY -- A Hudson County Superior Court judge handed a partial victory to mayoral hopeful Bill Matsikoudis this week when he ruled the city wrongfully withheld public records regarding a political strategist linked to Mayor Steve Fulop.

The judge's order represents the first clash between Fulop and Matsikoudis since Matsikoudis declared he will attempt to unseat the mayor in November 2017. The two men are longtime political foes.

I'm sick of tax abatements myself, but I wonder what you think Donald Trump would do about this? On the business side, Trump would be eating up abatements like candy. On the government side, Trump would be doling them out like candy. If you doubt me, just look at the Carrier deal. He gave millions of dollars to a company that's moving a bunch of jobs to Mexico. Trump is exactly the problem that you're complaining about.

At least this abatement includes a new public school, so we're getting something out of it.

I'd say by now abatements are not needed to get developers into Jersey City. As far as the 10% affordable housing. I don't agree with that either. The people who get these deals are usually ones with political ties. Seems unfair to me that some people living in crime ridden neighborhoods have to pay more that those living in luxury.

The city needs to open Enos Jones Park up to the public once the lead issue is resolved. Right now it belongs to a select few who control who can use the fields and when. As far as roads are concerned, they will be in a perpetual state of disarray as more water-mains deteriorate and new, crappy and overstuffed buildings are erected. The harder it is for traffic to pass through downtown the better it is for the residents safety. Right now the DTJC area is in a transformation wherein, like Hoboken, it's becoming more and more evident that pedestrian traffic must take precedent over somebody's commute. The battle between pedestrians and the number of drivers breaking the law is truly frightening to watch. Slowly though I see more and more cars yielding at crosswalks but there are still many maniacs who will ignore, speed and try to scoot around the yielding cars. JCPD has to step up and start cracking some heads.

Wow. You are still blaming GWB with that avatar Vigilante?

America first - what a crock of siht!
We have been in wars for oil in the past 20 years - Manufacturing in the US was shifted to Asia because of corporation greed at the cost of blue collar labor with legislation allowing that to happen because it was seen as a way to reduce consumer goods cost - where do you think all the CHEAP crap from walmart - staples - home depo comes from? Do you think the average joe will work for wages the Chinese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Mexican are prepared to work for ....We have been putting America first ever since we understood how to make money from wars and manufacturing .... Note the 2 largest employers are the MIlitary and Walmart.
Trump sure did put America first, that's why he has had foreign wives!

Just for the record, both parties had 2 of the worst individuals in history, to have represented them.

I get so tired of listening to the left cry about the wars for oil! Does the US control the oil output in any middle eastern country? Where is the $1 a gallon gas? Where are the record profits for oil companies in the last few yrs? Just today I saw OPEC agree to cut supply so I suppose oil stocks might move slightly. If the US had gone in and taken control of foreign oil then this lefty mantra would have a point.

It's possible to be not anti-Semitic (even Jewish) and be critical of Israel. Since when do you care about Jews?

I grew up in a mostly Jewish neighborhood, and many of my closest friends are Jews.

But when I read that Breitbart is alt-right and pro-Nazi, it cracks me up-Breitbart conceived Breitbart News while on a trip to Israel, he and his co-founder were Jewish, and one of Breitbart's platform is to support Israel. Sure sounds like a bunch of neo-Nazis to me!

And yes, you can be somewhat critical of Israel with being anti-Semitic-as you can be critical of Obama without being racist, but tell that to any Democrat and they'll dispute it.
