We managed to find parking right there. No beer on tap!! $4.25 for a bottle of Heineken, the same for a bottle of Brooklyn Lager-no glasses, of course. God awful (tough and thick skin) won tons in spicy garlic sauce. Decent shrimp rolls. House vodka was Zemkoff, never heard of it-but the smart guy next to me knocked back 3 Absolut and cranberries in about ten minutes-the bartender gave him pretty nice pours it seemed. Worth a return visit? Not for me.

I'm sure people from Staten Island can find a supermarket without having to pay the Bayonne Bridge toll to go shopping. And Bayonne has an excellent newish Shop Rite downtown. I can't see people from Newark fighting the two bridge traffic then the 440 traffic to go supermarket shopping either.

Sadly, the idea of 'keep to your right' is lost on most people, whether it's walking on a sidewalk, using paths through Liberty State Park, or on four lane roadways. If everyone just kept to their right a lot of the issues people here are mentioning would go away.

And ignore those parking tickets (it just takes two) and after a few notices your driving license gets suspended . . . so pay up, everyone.

Twice I've seen a mail carrier on Garfield Ave in Greenville pushing a mail cart dressed very casually, so I'm going to assume JC mailmen don't have a strict dress code.

My take on this is that that Section D, 1, would indicate that permit parking overnight is ok. But double check! (d) The certain parts of the park and ride described in this subsection are hereby designated and established as ?permit parking only? zones where parking is prohibited at all times unless a valid vehicle permit is displayed: (1) Permit parking only: (A) Within the designated parking areas as indicated on the site plan, during all hours.

There is a Fairway not far on RT46W in Woodland Park (which was West Paterson until recently).

Dogs off leash, no matter how well trained their owners may claim they are, are much more prone to being run over by cars. It's really just roulette, in a way.

Dog off leash? Deserved. Booted for not paying your fines? OK with that. Beer on your own porch? Stupid ordinance, can that really be true?

You may not know that the Millburn TJ's is built into the former Lord and Taylor department store building, designed by noted industrial designer Raymond Loewy and his firm. (Loewy is perhaps best known for his redesign of the Coke bottle, Avanti automobile, and the Exxon logo). At one time Millburn Avenue was anchored by Lord and Taylor at the east end, and the first Saks outside Manhattan on the west end). If you're going to the area, a visit to the recently redone Greenwood Gardens, an Arts and Crafts era masterpiece.

I can bike to Edgewater in less than 40 minutes. And Manhattan, with it's vertical density, isn't a good comparison. In any case, the true test would be if TJ's thinks JC is a good fit for their corporate goals. So far it's not made the grade.

The TJ's in Edgewater is less than 10 miles away-the TJ model usually doesn't put them so close together, unless they straddle very affluent areas-ie the Westfield, Millburn, and Florham Park stores are somewhat close but they are supported by very high income shoppers. (It was no mistake that the first TJ's on the east coast was in, wait for it, Scarsdale).

The space that artist Hulbert Waldroup had on the ground floor of the Communipaw Cove building on Communipaw and Monitor has its windows papered over-anyone know if there is finally retail going in? When M.A.E. closed it seemed the area hit a hiccup, could something interesting be going in the space?

Every NJ resident I know remembers McSlimey as another corrupt politician, who in his private life endangered his wife (wives) by risky, anonymous highway rest stop sex. And then spent time covering up his public and private behavior rather than admitting it (until forced to under duress).

Bad choice, with no upside for Fulop. McSlimey never came clean over his Israeli lover and the way he was installed in a position that he was unqualified for. I'm surprised at the choice. It makes you wonder why Fulop chose him.
