How much more? Doesn't NJ spend more than just about every state in the USA? The overwhelming cost of Jersey City education costs are paid by NJ taxpayers rather than residents, you know, taking money away from educating their own kids.

When a teacher says 'it's all about the kids' it's all about money in their pockets. Every time. Thousands of Newark kids are waitlisted for charter schools, even though Newark has gotten hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars of Abbot funding. Hundreds and hundreds of millions. Shampoo, rinse, repeat.
There are many, many wonderful teachers in NJ. But they've had the pendulum in their arc for way too long, because no matter how much they're paid they can't teach kids with parents that don't care. And paying them more won't solve that.

The 'highlight' of Obama's 2 terms is going to be this cock up of monumental proportions-and it won't be the disgraceful website non-roll out, but when the true travesty of Obamacare on 85% of the populace becomes apparent. True socialism at work-screw the 85% to benefit the 15%.
If only the low information voters understood this during the last election rather than believe the lies they were told by Obama about his Obamacare . . . Add 'you'll keep the plan you like' to the famous lies like 'the checks in the mail'.

Here's another suggestion, but a bit west-take 280W to Pleasant Valley Way/Millburn (the street that inspired the song Another Pleasant Valley Sunday, btw) and cross Northfield Avenue, make a left into the complex of the Turtle Back Zoo golf/McLoone's Boathouse. Drop dead gorgeous, rustic-esque/Craftsmen design, great views.

4 MORE MURDERS IN 24 HOURS in Newark by the Senator elect who said he was going to make safety the number one priority as mayor of Newark.
He's a perfect adjunct to the guy who said, no matter what, you'd be able to keep the health plan and the doctors you liked. Oopsie.

OK, thanks for the history lesson-but the fact remains that our Founding Fathers worked from a Christian basis, with God as their moral compass. Marriage meant what it meant, and making it 'marriage' wasn't on their compass, not for same sex couples or polygamous families or any other 'grouping' that will now be 'allowed'.

So why the apparent opposition of pro gay marriage proponents against, say, plural marriages? Why the 'close the barn door behind male/female traditional marriage, and homosexual marriage' but deny plural marriage? It seems very exclusive, no? Rather bigoted, no? Rather anti-civil rights, no?

Nonsense, and you know it. Why do the 'progressives' fight for at will abortion for 13 year olds without parental control because they fear the 'slippery slope' against abortion 'rights', but ignore the desires of those with religious beliefs from defending against the same 'slippery slope', such as those who support traditional marriage from refusing to host gay marriages, for example, at their catering halls? Having it both ways is intellectually dishonest, of course.

You made her point entirely. Do you think that the Catholic Church, for example, should be forced to perform gay marriages? Or a Catholic hospital perform abortions? Why are Islamic families banned from practicing their religion here, ie multiple spouse marriages? Will the pro gay marriage people support that, because now marriage is opened up from one man/one woman to men/men or women/women? What about their rights? Will we see a return to traditional LDS plural marriages? My point has been to allow all to have civil unions for Federal and State realities, and marriages to be religious, regardless of sex, religion, and number of partners. Isn't that a win/win? It seems the gay lobby wants to enforce a 'make straight and gay 'marriage' equivalent, and shut the barn door behind us' issue. It's an intellectually dishonest argument.

No better example of a closeted politician who later resigned was Fulop's apparent bff than McGreevey. Voters should know these things in advance to make an educated choice on the candidate.

I had high hopes for him, especially when it seemed he'd be able to reach across the aisle to get things done. Minus the money he got from Facebook he's been an utterly useless mayor-and the revelations of his challenged ethics should alarm Democrats as much as it's disgusted Republicans.

Two things I can add. One, on the paths people walk two, three, four, five, ten across and don't give a crap about people coming up from behind, so it may make sense for runners to avoid that. Two, if cars drove the posted 25 mph on the roads, there wouldn't be any problem for a car to overtake a biker overtaking a runner.

Personal trainer recommendation-but a little bit different

I'd like a one shot visit by a trainer to instruct me using the equipment in the gym in my complex, which I then could use by myself. So I'm figuring maybe a two hour window, and I'd take photos of all the equipment and notes on sets/reps to follow going forward. Any recommendations/suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I'll often make a left onto Elm Street while on 7 West after Schulyer Avenue and pick up some empanadas at Stella's when I'm headed that way. Also, pay homage to the Soprano's and get a dollar slice at Pizzaland, although I still haven't stopped for a beer at the Silver Bell saloon next door, which must be the smallest bar in NJ.

I boil mine for a couple of minutes, then shock in an ice bath. Generally I'll put garlic in a cold pan, cover with olive oil, and heat over the slowest flame to let the garlic flavor the oil. I'll then add the broccoli rabe, often with red pepper flakes too. Most often I'll either use that as a side dish, or saut? up sausage and make it with pasta, or chop it up and make crostini with the broccoli rabe, some crispy pancetta, and fried capers and a shaving of Parmigiano Reggiano. Since I needed to go west (and I usually buy other stuff at Corrado's, such as olive oil, cheaper than I get at Shop Rite-and I like Shop Rite, btw) the gas wasn't an issue.
