Re: Loitering

No, simply projecting more than there are and running halting behavioral hypotheses on the impact of some words. Smell is way more effective on people behaviour.

FAB you may do yourself good by going to the aids walk, you would see how blatinos gays and str8 now constitute the majority of the crowd there. Homophobia is no more prevalent in minority youths than in others, your projection of behaviour based on some "funny" writing seems rather fast ass crap to me. Better try something fishy.

I agree they are very inclusive, maybe too much sometimes on teenager behavior, point taken. They accept and value all couples equally, including gay couples. Some other faiths use a more hierarchical system. I wish the originator of this thread a very happy marriage!!

Re: Gay Jersey City couple fight mother for custody of twin 5-year-old girls
Home away from home
Home away from home

I have less of an issue with improper use of grammar as compared to incomplete grasp of reality. The gay dads are here, heights, and they have a family that a judge trusted to protect, deal with it. Saying that they should have "done their duty" by marrying straight and procreating is like Bachmann who says that gay couples can marry.. with someone of the opposite sex. In that instance, Bachmann just ignored the word "couple" not to have to face it. The question heights is, can you face the concept? From what I see, these dads "procreated", and I am sure that the judge made sure that they follow the gay "lifestyle", I mean straight, I mean.., you know, all these very peculiar things like going to the supermarket, taking meals together, going to the beach in the summer, selecting the best school for the kids etc..

Ultimately you might find useful to trace back some of your gut reactions on some people back to your high school memories, press erase, and then reboot your brain. I can personally attest that it does marvel when one stop sorting out people based on expectations (they are the same, see all the folks getting married and this family) but on character instead, such as generosity..., and honesty.

I wanted to add Carmine to the list of places with very good pizza. Relatively thin crust, not dry. Not over cheesy, good seasoning. This is now my favorite on par with the New Rustique in the HP area.

That being said, when Two Boots opens in the Spring I think they may have some competition.

I have to agree about the idea of NOT allowing people to trade in derivatives, especially the unregulated ones, seems like dooming the 99% further....
As for these companies making a profit tomorrow by harvesting the web today let me have a little laugh please. Everyone knows that the 1% are making a killing through their special slots in trading data center. I think I heard about a location in parsippany once, if right this is where OWS should demonstrate. If you make a profit through milliseconds curve analysis avantage, I am sorry, this is not investing, this is parasitism. Tax rates should def be higher than 35% for that kind of "hard work" which doesn't benefit society at all. This is not about providing "liquidity" to the economy.

Re: Grove Pointe ridiculous rent increase

This "ridiculous increase in rate" actually looks tame when compared to what is going on in NYC right now..: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/16/rea ... highs.html?pagewanted=all

Maybe GP is also anticipating some increased assessment with the incoming reval. The city has been literally robbing landlords of their rent through the recent double-digit year-over-year property tax increases, it is quite expected that they will pass the bill now that they can afford it. Elect a mayor that will not give any tax abatment to builders...

Re: Broker's fee

Yes, I would like to know where this 80% figure comes from too. Maybe in the buildings along the Hudson, but I doubt in the historical district. I am a landlord and I found my last tenant via Craiglist/open house in 2009, after trying first through an agency. I got considerably more hit via this process and my tenant and I got into an satisfactory deal. I know friends who have done the same. I intend to repeat the process this spring if the unit comes back to the market, even if we are in (what looks like) a landlord market now.

Entering personal information on a .com site that is supposed to defend your privacy..., hummm, no thank you.
For browsers, use chrome instead of IE. For personal information, my preference is to use typos in name/numbers. This is especially useful for making sure that what is posted on facebook and social networks do not end up on a google search for your name. It is also useful for sites where one is supposed to enter accurate information by law - oops, iphone typo.

Other than traffic on 6th that can be a little backed up and noisy because of the lights, this is indeed a pretty desirable location. The embankment right across provides privacy and it won't be demolished soon. If you have first choice, take the bedroom on the back

Thanks for letting us know Joe. Yes I have noticed your ravioli add and I look forward to getting a taste very soon. I wish some people would stop doing the association (even unconsciously) with the old rustique and its peculiar management which is so different from your attentive and warm approach. Maybe you could make it a pun and call your place "The New Rustique", I wish you very well.

As a reminder, one can get triple play in some ol' europe countries for 30 euros... I just have comcast for internet + roku netflix, I use google voice to call there on my cell, and sometime the viber app for free text/voice between wherever on the world. If Comcast DARE to increase my rate which is currently at $60, ciao Comcast. Most of the popular tv shows ends up on either hulu or the original tv channel websites nowdays (see abc app on the ipdad) and are filled with adds. No need to double pay folks.

I was in their washington bld branch 2 days ago. Completely blocked neck and back and I had been in pain for close to a month. Went there on recommendation from a friend. The person, Ray, seemed rather knowledgeable and he methodically repositioned back, shoulders and enstiffened my neck. He also gave me some recommendations about motions I should do. He had to rely on deep tissue repointing in some parts and I was a little in pain, but I have to say that today I feel much better. I am returning back next week.

Just heard Cuomo on npr and he said the proposed increase is a non starter, and he will look at what the PA needs - suggesting looking at other ways the state can finance this. Seems to suggest the rebellion has caught up his attention. Christie will probably issue a statement later on after his son's baseball game.. - although I have to give him credit for his rant against the shariah crazies.

Re: 50 columbus

Nice reference.. When I rented in avalon cove in the late nineties, tenants had similar issues in the new tower they had just built south of the original complex. $500+ bills for smallish apartments with completely uncooperative management. They ultimately created they own tenant association which was even mentioned in the jc reporter. Since I left around that time, I don't know if the initial notification letters about fixing the windows had any effect. Imho if a building is poorly insulated from the start, remediation will only partly address the problem. Knowing that I would certainly not rent in that building.

68 millions for health insurance... Either it includes coverage for employees of "independent" authority such as the incinerator authority or..., there are fictional employees on the payroll.
That's how Chirac funded his party activities when he was mayor of Paris.

Regarding debt payment, we are already >10% of the budget so I don't think it is insignificant. As for MDM comments I agree. Many tax liens on the city books are no longer worth the money with the way properties keep dropping each time the tax increase. The more the city taxes, the faster the tax base will collapse.

Thanks Steve, I must confess that I nearly fell for the mayor numbers. An increase of 13% will inevitably bring another round of reduced values and more tax appeals. In that process, the upcoming reval will just be a hand trying to catch a knife falling.

I have heard that cities like Cleveland found ways to protect some (!) of their resident interests by making bonds payments less of their priorities. I would be interested to hear your point of view on this.

I would just bring a sample of paint chip from my door to benjamin moore, they have historic colors that will closely match your sample. Then do the work on Saturday, I have seen so many people do this around my block. If it is more substantial than what you describe then talking with Dan Wrieden is the way to go.

Re: Hamilton Park dogs

I saw this tonight as well and I am appalled by this selfish act. Parkman, it might be of value to refer this to law enforcement, since the city could get $$$$ by sending someone to the park to fine people who don't follow the rules. I would tremendously value this as a taxpayer, if it replenishes city coffers for a good reason for once. If people have an issue with the pet free zoning they can petition the community for a change. The individual must belong to the "Me-Me generation".
