Re: Councilwoman-at-Large Willie Flood's son arrested selling marijuana out of her Mercedes

Should the car have been impounded and does anyone know for sure, what the law is on forfeiture of a car used to deal / sell drugs from?

If the car was to be impounded, we have another issue of graft and corruption.

Why not use the Sand Bar during winter to host art shows, meetings, conferences, plays etc.
Excellent parking and its never used in winter.

DRUG TESTS for ALL EMERGENCY SERVICES PERSONNEL NOW.
Enough is enough.

Also, this guys supervisor should be demoted for being a dumb-ass and his fellow firefighters from that station should be ashamed of themselves. Here they are fighting and investigating fires and a person they need to rely on could be as high as a kite.

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see the signs of someone that is a user or on drugs. Most of JClister could pick them.

This councilwoman wants to manage a city, when she can't manage her son.

Willie will say that her son is a lovely, caring boy that has never been in trouble with the law and she was unaware of his drug dealings. She never smelt 'pot' in HER car or on her son. She will claim she doesn't even know what 'pot' is.

The only issue I have with this, is the fact that WE dumb-asses elected her into office and its no wonder crime is so intrenched in JC.

There are dysfunctional individuals, people and families.

In todays day and age we now have dysfunctional neighborhoods and government bodies.

Tomorrow we will have dysfunctional cities, states and nations..............or are we there already?

Its not the neighborhood that's dysfunctional, its the people in it!

At least DeFazio is busy - The cops must be taking a 'let the crooks kill each other attitude' to a positive policing approach. It's cheap and needs no resources!

Isn't that where the DWI cop cousin of the Mayor killed and permanently maimed a mother and child?

If it is the same stretch of road, then need I say more!

What's the chances of this being brought up at the 'cops' trail as a contributing factor to the accident and not the fact he was drunk?

Re: State of the City Address - Mayor Healy
Home away from home
Home away from home

Healy should announce that he doesn't know how to manage people or run a city, but knows how to look after friends and business colleagues.

He should simply walk away and seek State intervention and do us all a favor!

If Healy and his administration, including the Chief of Police was running a private business with shareholders, they would sacked on the spot with no bonus and forfeit their last months pay.

The Chief could save himself if he publicly announces harder and stringent checks and balances on his and the public paid officers. Internal affairs should systematically check every officer regardless if there is a complaint about them to improve public image.

There should also be an independant ethical and internal affairs department within City Hall to do the same with staff. This is public taxes paying for their conduct and should be transparent.

Don't worry, it will be divided into 2 compounds for small and large dogs. It was thrashed out and agreed on months ago by residents of that area - even though some (not the majority) opposed the idea.

I'll never use the dog run parkie, but I wouldn't waste my breath keeping certain individuals happy with a response.

You have an agreement on what people wanted months ago, so stick to it. If some people aren't happy then bad luck.

Re: Van Vorst Park---Dog Run

Dog owners never cease to amaze me.

Not so long ago a dog called 'chester' (or his running friend) bit a jogger and I made the remark to sue - which resulted in me being chastised by some.

Here we have a dog who got dust in it's eyes and the 'parkman' is suggested to be responsible for this occurrence. Childless dog owners SEEM to be a special breed and their behavior always amuse me.

With the dust issue, can I make a claim against the construction site nearby that causes dust to enter my factory via the wind, or should I point the finger at his Holiness for creating the wind and forcing me to keep my windows closed while construction is taking place.

As a suggestion with this dust at the dog run (as pointed out by parkie on day one) buy some goggles for the dog!

WTF?

This racist statement has no place in print, or anywhere else.

How would a police officer describe this person in question or how would joe citizen describe this person to help id her, other then saying she was white in her late teens - early twenties wearing a gray hooded jacket?

I don't think it is racist when describing a particular person.

Saying young female wearing clothes doesn't help identify an individual and is to genaral to id someone.

Happy to be proven wrong!

If I'm wrong, I expect to be described as a man only - not fat or tall, white or black!

If there is no dogs in the dog run, can I bring my bocce balls and play their? What about if I get some locals and set-up a course using witches hats and have RC 4x4 races in that area when there are no dogs about?

There must be more then one use for that controlled area that could be used by other groups and activities.

It is just a thought and maybe other groups could book the area via the parkman?

Unfortunately it will take a death of someone important or is a news report, before anyone from cityhall lifts their lazy ass to look at the issue.
This issue has been a problem around my area for years and kids have been hit. If you get anywhere with those bumps, stick them on all neighborhood intersections that local traffic use.

His defence will be that he had suffered and the City hasn't helped him with his problems - the focus will be on his loss (several years ago) and the stress of his job.
The toddler that died and the mother still suffering will not be the focus.

There will be some bull shit that makes him a victim also.

These JJ reporters suck big time, when it comes to reporting.

As Mayor of any City you are the COMMANDER AND CHIEF of that City - you appoint people and make recommendations on what is best for the City.

Healy is clearly no leader and should walk away from the job. He appears to be a puppet for developers and self serving with no idea who to select for key roles within city hall - it seems to be based on self interest needs then community needs. What ever happen to appointing the best person for the job?

All the ongoing crap that happens in Jersey City is a reflection on the people who live here - he was voted in!

What crap will we look forward to next week and next month - it just never ends.

Obviously the culture in the Police needs closer attention. I bet there are 'checks and balances' that are not being followed. Maybe an independant internal affairs department should be set up to look at Police and City Hall employees?

I don't know how many Police officers are at the JCPD, but is would be under 1000 - which should be easy to manage and introduce change to the current crap that officers are getting upto.

Freibott, who has a previous DWI and a long list of moving violations and three license suspensions, transferred to the Jersey City department from the Middletown police department in 2005. He is the son of Mayor Jerramiah Healy's first cousin.

Interesting - Son of 1st cousin, 3 license suspension, previous DWI, long list of moving violations - prior to JCPD move!

I'd love to see camera's mounted on the shoulder of cops - it would make for good t.v and prosecution of crimes and poor policing action. When they strap on their gun, they can strap on a camera for their entire shift - (except when in the shithouse or doing a little corruption)
