Thank you, JCase. I was just about to point that out, but you beat me to it. Furthermore, most of the ones that have responded so far are stating impressions, without facts and/or numbers to back up their assertions. I have actually timed the trains (both during weekends and weekdays) and have consistently found the difference to be in the four minutes neigborhood. People often get the impression that it is much longer because the train sits in Hoboken for three minutes (unless the conductor is talking up a babe, or a fellow co-worker, in which case it can take longer...) but it seems like most people fail to realize that the trip between Christopher and Hoboken is about 3 minutes shorter than the one between Christopher and Pavonia. Hence, the four minute difference.

I am often amused by the people who complain of the "tremendous" delays in weekend service because of the stop at Hoboken. I have heard many complain that the weekend trips are SO MUCH longer... Really? 4 minutes is a TREMENDOUS delay that makes your trip MUCH LONGER? Give me a break. Sit down, relax, enjoy the trip, and stop fretting about 4 minutes. For the record, I also dislike the extra minutes, but I just don't think that four minutes are THAT big a deal.

That intersection is too chaotic with the Exchange place and school traffic. You must be lost if you think that the SW corner of VVP is close to Exchange Place... Regardless, I go past that corner every morning while riding my bike to work and have often had the pleasure of having to jam my brakes because some yahoo mistook the stop sign for a Coke sign. Seriously, what is it with JC drivers and stop signs?? That, and the utterly disregarded red lights! With all this talk about city budget shortfalls, I would have expected by now some city pol to ask for increased police enforcement of the scofflaw drivers. The city would make a TON of money in very little time.

If the officers are so poorly trained and/or disciplined that they kick one suspect in broad daylight, in front of civilians, how can I trust them to give an honest explanation of why they used deadly force against another suspect? Broad daylight? At 1:41 AM? I don't think so... Besides, witness are often unreliable. And I am willing to bet that the suspect laying on the ground was most likely not laying there calmly, waiting for the cops to slap the cuffs on him. Most likely he was resisting arrest, or moving, or otherwise disregarding the officers' order to lay down and not move.

I have a couple of friends that have tried Fetch Pet Care in the past and they were all happy and satisfied. They operate in JC and surrounding areas. Not sure about who to contact, but they have a site: Fetch Pet Care. The one friend had them stay over while on vacation, while the other hired them for daily walks.
