East end of the Bergen Tunnel

Brian Weller, landscape architect with JC and project manager for the renovation, spoke at the HPNA meeting Wed night, along with a manager from Green Construction (general contractor on the project). The first thing they're doing is installing an extensive drainage system. That's going to go on for awhile (well into the summer, I forget how long we were told). When that's all done, it will look like very little has been done since all that is underground.

They're anticipating having it all done by late Fall. We'll see.

Well, they certainly ARE putting in a drainage system. They've just unloaded to trailers worth of pipe for that.

But it DOES look like the new sidewalk goes all the way around.

I'd LOVE to live in luxury up there. But I really think the views belong to all of us. Here's a photo set I took from atop the embankment in late November of 2007:
