Let's be realistic here. You're not going to get dry aged beef at this price point and I doubt they have the space or desire to do it themselves.

1 - clothes they wore to school that day with some face paint.
2 - shoprite bags
3 - "only one piece, you cheap"

at least this is what I witnessed last night on the way home from work.

Jeezus people, give the kid a break. Ever hear of positive reinforcement?

Good ole' "Just Complain List"
Out after curfew - complain
Playing basketball - complain
Crossing against the light - complain
Pat on the back for a decent score on SAT - complain

Sure, it's a puff piece with an overreaching title but who cares?

What's up with that?

Places are successful and expand? I love it when mom and pops become small local or regional chains (i.e. 3-6 locations, like wonder bagel). You get the personality and local flavor but with the consistency and convenient multiple locations of a chain.

Also that would be 3 Taquerias, they have a LES location.

two Taquerias? grove & grand where else other than the LES one?

JC Post Office up to their old tricks.

Was supposed to get a package yesterday. Checked tracking and it stated "Undeliverable as addressed" and "notice left" - "returned to sender"

Yeah, no notice was left and the package was/is addressed fine. This is the third time this has happened this year.

other mail still gets dropped off once a week, like clockwork.

Filed another complaint but that's pretty much like shouting in a dark room that I'm alone in. I guess bitching here isn't much different.

Back to the kitchen, I smell something burning.

So I stopped in the other night for drinks and dinner. The menu looked good, not overly priced and the happy hour specials looked good. I sat at the bar while I waited for my wife to show up. The place looked really nice and I though how nice it was to have a place right outside the Path Station.
I ordered a beer, the sign outside saying happy hour ?$3?s all craft beers?, my wife shows up I asked to close my tab and I get a $16 tab for 2 beers. I asked what the deal was and the barman said the happy hour special was for a smaller glass?!? I did end up having diner there which was very nice but I was fuming the entire dinner thinking how they tricked me. I don?t think I will ever go back.

That's a pretty good bait and switch. Sucks.
Stories like this is why I'll never try the place.

I've had a pair of AE heels replaced by them but not full resole. Once you have a resole/recraft done outside of AE, they wont touch them.
Get the full AE recraft. They come back looking better than new. I've had two pair done. It's 125 for standard and they send you a $35 gift card toward your next purchase.

Giovanni D'Italia is by far the best for work on good shoes; something like a full resole on goodyear welted shoes. If you're getting a $50 pair of kenneth coles reglued, go to the other guys.

It's not new. 4 years for srue, but possibly, 7 or more. I live in a building that offers parking but didn't have spaces available at the time. Still coudn't get one. This was back when Fulop first was elected councilman. I exchanged emails with his office and the PA but no go. I believe it was even brought to the council for a vote.

Bottom line, cant get a parking permit? Thanks Obama.

The least expensive pizza (no cheese) is $14 x 2 = $28
Beet salad $10 = $38
Meetballs $9 = $47

Were they running a special?

I like Razza, and as Tommy said it's not bad if you consider it a nice restaurant instead of a pizza place, but I can't see a family of 3 getting out of there for $40 (even if you just drink water) unless someone is willing to go home hungry or the 3rd person is 3.

Tommy,
I'm not really disagreeing with you but the cost still feels inflated and they should be called out on it. I'm sure Ansel bakery could get $20 or more per Cronut but you dont see them charging that.

and yes it's nice to see them on the list.

The market place will determine the price. If it's perceived as not a good value people will not pay and the price will come down or the product will be discontinued. If you don't feel its is a good value don't go there.

Golly. Thanks for telling me how fair market value works. JClist is the new Khan academy!

Are the shelters reaching out or are there any services that we do or should offer? As our city gentrifies, I only see this problem growing.

Yes, because the dollar stores and other shitholes really add some much "character" to the DTJC. >facepalm<
they don't promise character. they promise stuff for a dollar. some people in downtown need or want cheap stuff. sorry if that offends you.
Exactly. This is what I dont get. People are moving here from hoboken and NYC and want to change DTJC so it's more like hoboken or NYC. Why not just go back to where you came from if it's so great. What you people are asking for is exactly what Washington St is. Just go there. Please. Whatever. I'm sure the same conversation will be taking place ten years from now except it will be about all the "cheap" stores on Central ave.

K9, barcade, litm, sawadee, two boots, roman nose, the new speakeasy, bonchon, are the types of stores we need..

The smart thing to do would be for the city to secure a contract with a business owner who promises not to open these type of stores and then buy out these existing stores/restaurants.

Simply put, this is repulsive.

Just say it, basically you want less places that are affordable and more places that white people shop.

The DUI's, litter and noise etc. are not legal. The amount of death and destruction caused by booze is out of control. Shall we pull up all the drinking related accidents in this area alone over the past few years? And no, there are no fines coming for me, I promise. They will never get me. The cops love me for all the criminals I have helped put away over the years.
