The video is not new, it happened about 3- 4 years ago during the Cunningham or Smith administration. This was near 111 First st.. The cops involved were severely disciplined. They were transfered, demoted, and/or suspended.

It definitely wasn't Tommy Smith. He left office in "81"

This area of the Heights is definitely on the upswing, but as with any area in this city, you have to always be aware of your surroundings.

I haven't heard of a particular story of someone being mugged by the elevator but where you are looking is much closer to the 2nd St lightrail station. Walk east on Franklin Street 3 blocks. You will see a winding road when you get to Franklin and Ogden, the bottom of the road is the 2nd St station.

There are many condo conversions in progress on Webster & New York, so I think that the neigborhood will only get better.

Good Luck!

I would thoroughly investigate the neighborhood before proceeding. I know that Jewett between Bergen & Kennedy is a notorious drug spot. I grew up in JC and a general rule of thumb was always to stay away from anything east of Kennedy Blvd. Maybe things have changed as many things have in JC.

I would sugggest driving around the neighborhood around the time you would normally go to bed. The nighttime activity should give you a good idea of how safe the area is.

Good Luck.

Does this mean that he will not be in attendance to the Bowers Street event?

I could not disagree more as far as Flood Watch not being a ripoff. We had them do work in our condo building and their prices were quite high.

I also called them in to take a look at a leaking faucet in my bathroom sink. He took a crescent wrench, tightened the lead to the valve and told me, "that will be $150.00". Idon't know about you, but I classify that as a ripoff.

I had a company called Recommended Plumbing replace a thermocouple on my hot water heater for $120.00 and he came less than an hour. I don't have their number, but I think the guy that came was Eddie.
