I would sell it and donate the money to the Jersey City Museum.

Sell it to whom? The desk itself should be a museum object. If nothing else, it could be exhibited within city hall, accompanied by an informative label. (And that still from Boardwalk Empire.)

Sell it to the highest bidder. If said bidder wishes to donate it in such a way so it can be on public display, so be it.

I don't think we should have nostalgia for a corrupt past.

But those who forget the past are destined to repeat it.

There's a difference between remembering the past and fetishisizing it. I don't like the idea that it is still being used today, like it's some sort of quaint joke.

By putting it up for bid you're publicizing it. Young children will think corruption is ok.

Try NY Bagel on Newark. It's not for everyone but I like the consistent quality of strip mall style bagels.

You mean there really was a person named Frank Hague -- I thought he was just a character on Boardwalk Empire...

It's historic and should be kept.

I'd like to know how exactly this is going to work.

Or people whose dogs didn't have to go #2? You haven't really thought this through.

I hope they wait six weeks to actually send the check. Otherwise we might wind up with just a few more compactors that nobody takes care of.

Maybe you need to stop clowning around.
