Sigh.

Why should the police go after violent drug dealers, and gang members who shoot back, when it's easier to arrest people who are chillin' and just smoking weed.

The $12 million offered to Citibank is to relocate workers to the Newport Office Center III in Jersey City, which is located on the waterfront near the Newport PATH station.

Look people, you don't expect CRIMES happening in this part of the area like Paulus Hook when a good radius is occupied by expensive row houses and luxury highrises. Why must sketchy people who live in Montgomery Projects and beyond come down here and cause crimes? It shouldn't be. To vilify or poke fun at mercyme is uncalled for. We pay sky high rent in the area. Realtors try to lure people like me into buying because the neighborhood is high class and SAFE. HA! what a joke. You don't see this type of crime in Tribeca and BPC it shouldn't be as well in Paulus Hook. The projects up the hill will always infiltrate the waterfront and Paulus Hook section. Unsuspected buyers get suckered into buying with hefty mortgage here. Buyers need to know that crimes from neighboring area come down here and mess the place. Buyers beware. Renters need to look elsewhere for your money's worth.

Don't you know that's just code?

Law abiding cool weather people = white yuppie types that can't afford Hoboken.

crime ridden warm weather people = black, hispanic, and other race/ethnicity that only cause trouble.

In this case, there was a few times where he it appears that he could have been taken in for a mental health check, either voluntary or involuntary, but didn't happen. Probably since his mom was a government employee.

This is a good first step, but doesn't go nearly far enough.

1. Potential bicyclists should have to get a license and be trained in proper operation of a human-powered vehicle. I see way too many bicyclists ignoring traffic regulations, riding on sidewalks, "pulling wheelies," etc. This is a hazard! A mandatory class followed by a paper Certification in Bicycling would be key to ending this recklessness.

2. Annual Registration. To ensure that the bicycle hasn't changed hands without proper paperwork being filed.

3. Insurance - Who knows how many tax dollars are spent treating the un-insured victims of wanton bicycling? No-fault insurance should be mandatory.

4. Environmental Inspection - While this may seem like an unnecessary precaution, there are countless old, out-of-fate bicycles on the road. Before environmental regulations, these bikes were painted with toxic lead paint and constructed from other potentially harmful materials. Chips of this lead paint could fall off and be consumed by small children, rendering them brain damaged and potential "wards of the state." Also, I see many bicyclists smoking - trailing long clouds of toxic, chocking, carcinogenic smoke behind them, leading to countless deaths from second hand smoke. This madness must end!

I sent a copy of this note to Rep. Cleopatra on behalf of the Concerned Citizens of Jersey City.

I have to guess, by your past postings, that you're joking. Crazy thing is, part of me says you're not, because some joker over at bluejersey actually supports this legislation.

Um, there's a 30 story residential building across the street. When they do have stuff outside it is heard loud and clear by alot of people.

I'm all for them having a dance and entertainment license, as long as the dance and entertainment is primarily inside. For occasional holidays outside speakers are OK, but not every weekend.

30 story residential building right on a road that will soon be six lanes of traffic.....
