Fulop's fallen in our reformer leader poll? Dan Levin has moved into a tie with him over the past two weeks? Is Fulop making the sound of one hand clapping, or is Levin trying to remind voters who led the p2p and other reform fights in the first place?

beautiful night for an outdoor meeting. perhaps in Ramos Park?
I trust JCList isn't your only method of getting the word out. Someone surely has handed out fliers or something at/near the park, right?

and if your child is hot by a car on the way to school, this site would be overrun with complaints that the city has no crossing guards. here's another example of a jersey journal story that isn't a story at all .

There's a guy on Newark Avenue, downtown. Danilo's is the name of the place. (I think he's the Danilo). It's two doors down from Nia's, formerly Baker Boys Cafe, just west of the Monmouth St. intersection. He's old school and does all the work himself. He's probably a good (cheap) bet.

I would love to compile some of these with some fotos that any of you may want to share. Pls. send me a PM if you have any.

Ok, one more. The "Popeye" tag on the pillars of then Ferris, later P.S. 32, now McNair Academic High School on Coles Street. He is one of the great street legends of our old Hamilton Park 'hood. The recent addition to the back of the high school forever covered the basketball courts where these legends were born.

i'm pretty sure it's one public pension,

but (one might suggest) that there is something to be said for the fact that it's a part-time job, even steve f. has another job. granted, steve f. isn't on the public payroll, but if he were director of the HEDC, would his supporters really mind that? someone could argue that there's nothing wrong with having your "full-time" job also be a public job. i mean, it's supposed to have some virtue, serving the public, no?

A lot of Newarkers complain about this very thing with Booker. He chases the national media attention @ the expense of the city's rep. Chester's right. Conan creams Cory. And Booker probably could have offered a hard hat from one of the city's many construction sites instead of a Giants helmet, no? Maybe a Newark Bears batting helmet? At least, a Weequahic High Footbal helmet. The Giants play in Bergen County, dude.

Furloughs and layoffs were a solution employed by Healy's buddy Cory Booker in Newark. Did you know they were such good friends? From BCB today:

"I?ll get it out of the way up front: politics makes some strange-ass bedfellow. But even the most seasoned pol watchers have been scratching their heads over the friendship that has developed between Newark Mayor Cory Booker and Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy. While it may seem hard to believe that the 40-year-old, suburban-raised Rhodes Scholar and Stanford and Yale grad (Booker) could be buddies with the 60-year-old political insider who grew up on the streets of Jersey City and got his J.D. from Seton Hall Law, both men say their friendship is real."

The Magic Id on Newark Ave. Where you could get the Velvet posters of buxom black goddesses that exploded in colors under a black light, incense, rolling papers and crazy-ass jewelry. The epitome of Ebony chic, baby.

I luv the Brix, used to live there, spent a lot of my professional life there. There is no easy, or satisfying, way to tell this city's story. Every positive effort (arena, new housing) is met with more negative news (6 shot this week). Newarkers are rightfully annoyed that the media seem to always show up for murder/death/kill but Brick City deserves credit for taking 8 months to compile the story of a beautifully imperfect city and some of its beautifully imperfect people. Big finish tonight on Sundance. I defy you not to be moved.

yet. the crowd at tonight's council meeting was thin, giving this supposed pariah another day to get his sea legs. where's the vaunted outrage? If I had to sit through the entire city council meeting just to get one stinkin' interview, some of you reformers should have to do at least that to get Vega to resign!

wouldn't a Wayne Street specific cop just have people from other blocks wanting their own street specific cop. I can see my neighbors wanting their own cop to stop the brawls that spill out onto the street at least twice a month from the bar across the street. Yesterday's "demonstration" was a good opportunity, but I'm not sure anything came from it. As I proposed earlier here, the meeting with police brass should have been held inside Ramos Park.

Skipped the meeting with police brass. (If I have to sit through another one of those ...) But the gathering on Wayne Street, before the meeting, was sparsely attended. Did it have an impact? ...
