You can pay pills from any account you want. The online bill pay is pretty slick as well...

I am pleased with it - there are chase ATMs in every duane reade as well - it doesnt get much more convenient.

Yeah that was why I am seriously considering moving my accounts. Thanks for the help :)

If they are half built and not much has gone on they have probably run out of financing. My firm used to do a lot of that. We actually built quite a few places in Jersey City. Quite a few places owe us quite a lot of money too.

Remember with the light rail it doesn't join to the path card. So if you are going to Manhattan and need a metro card you know have to pay for three cards. I would add it up and decide if it was worth the extra cost.

I got one those things to open an account and it says it is free
and they will give me 125 bucks as long as i keep the account for 6 months. I work in the city so chase is convenient and get off at grove street and live near warren and Columbus so that is also convenient.

I like the save the change bank of america has... i also would need 3 savings accounts.. 1 for me, 1 for my husband and 1 joint. then also 3 regular accounts one for me, 1 for the husband, and 1 for our joint account.

can you transfer within the bank easily? also with the bill pay does it let you choose the account you pay from?

right now i can only pay from my account and need to constantly transfer from our joint to my own.

we each have our own savings and regular accounts because we put our personal money we have put aside each month in there and if we want to save to buy something we do it in out own(or i put money in the joint and my savings and he saves money in his own)

i guess i should go in and talk to them... I just really hate b of a and never go because there is never parking at the one on newark that is legal b/c they close at 5:30 pavonia is inconvenient and there is no parking and i work in the village/meatpacking district(i am on the edge) so the closest b of a is on 6th and 14th... i think.

i have only dealt with b of a sucking(they have lost more than one check on me and my husband.. don't use the teller, the ATM is much much safer and then they were asses to me because i was angry they couldn't find 6000 worth of checks..this was right after my wedding)

why don't you just cross at 8th?

i agree they need more lights on Marin but i think it's for the cars not the pedestrians. I use them as my shield to avoid the lights on 6th.

I think these overheard passages are a waste of money. if you are elderly or disabled you would just cross at street level since walking up stairs is either painful, difficult or impossible.

"It seems only cars and funneling people into the shopping Mall were on the planner's minds when the Mall was built. Downtown JC needs to keep up with the times and the pedestrian population and nature of Downtown JC."

do you how difficult they have made it to get into the mall with those fences they put up that are too high because all these idiots were cutting across the street.

I am one for walking to lights on major roads. they can't put a light everywhere. I used to ride my bike to pavonia or grove street everyday from 7th and jersey and I had no problems.

It depends on the fabric. I don't see why not. When i was a kid my mom would always do that with sofa's. As long as it is not chenille or velvet. You may want to do a test area that you can't see and make sure that it doesn't damage the fabric. If you do this yearly i would suggest investing in a steam cleaner. they are only about 200-300 dollars and they worked well in the mid 90's they should be better now.

I want to get one but it wouldn't be worth the cost.

also if your carpet is wool and not nylon(most are but a lot of homes have wool rugs... if it pills a lot then it is most likely wool) check the tag to see what it is. You need to be careful and read the instructions.

good luck.

the wife and i have had some issues with them again recently. seeing as they botched our transfer from one residence to the next and we weren't cancelling and they tried to charge us for cancellation under contract and didn't show up the day we were supposed have our internet installed, they offered us a $200 credit! nice right? but since then i have recieved two bills both more then the amount i was quoted for service (60 for internet not 40 and thats before the fees and taxes) we tried to call and straighten it out and we were informed they don't give credits like that and we were to get a credit but of $40 and it would be through the mail in the form of a check.

i effffffff'ing hate comcast right now!

you need to call them back. do not give us.

They botched my transfer and messed up my first bill, shocker huh?

So after we fixed them shutting off our phone 5 times(we gave up after the 4th time before we moved b/c it was only 2 days away) shut off our cable, turned on the cable cards, but not my second tv with a regular box, and stole one of modems.. i was a "little" pissed. I knew this would happen. oh they also rescheduled my appt like 4 times 1 time without telling me.

I called them yesterday after getting a bill for 217 bucks that I should not be paying b/c i already paid from march 13 till april 14th. luckily i got someone who understood this and gave me an account manager.. i explained the situation with the phone and how we had no service for a week we are getting a 20 credit off the next three bills to make up for the difference and so i am not paying the connection fee.

then i get a person to deal with the bill. They start a new account when you transfer.. why they don't just transfer your account is beyond me. They say i will see a 160 credit in 24 to 48 on the new account. let's hope i do. I have already seen the 29.70 they credited me for sucking at something.. i forgot what now. so i will have to pay 30 bucks but "will" get 20 bucks off my next 3 bills.

let's see if that really happens. I only spent an hour fixing this.

honestly i have spent 4 hours fixing their bills. 4 months in a row. You need to get the right person. I got three nice people who understood why i do not see why i should double pay my bill or pay to set up my phone since it wasn't set up right and they took a modem without informing me.

just keep bothering them. that is really all you can do.

good luck and keep up the fight eventually you will wear them down and win but at the same time you will get really worn down but it's a lot of money to lose.

You people are delusional. To say the heights was the safest place in Jersey City is like saying that sorting cocaine is safer than shooting it. Neither are safe. People think that the heights are ghetto because they are. When i tell older family members were I live they think I am going to get shot. MY grandmother and Grandfather actually got held up in Jersey City in the 70's. My grandfather was a cap and had a gun so the guy ran away but Jersey City has a few good parts and a lot of crappy parts.

South Central LA is full of families too but it's still dangerous.
Deal the Heights is ghetto. JSQ is ghetto. It just is. Eventually it will be gentrified and won't be ghetto but that is the price you will have to pay.

Think a bout Atlantic Avenue/Fulton Street in Brooklyn. I was FORBIDDEN from going to that LIRR station to see my bf when in like 1998. it was SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPer ghetto. now there is a mall and white people for miles.

I am not saying i want to live in an all white neighborhood. I like diversity. I didn't move to park slope b/c it was too damn white but you need to realize the world is racist. I hate the hipsters too(there are more down by where newark crosses 2nd which isnear where i live now and it sucks)

This is why I would never go to see anything at the Prudential Center. I went to see the Spice Girls last year and before they announced they had a NYC event, I had gotten tickets for Nassau Coliseum. I am from there and got a ride from my dad and he gave me a ride back to the train.

If i had gone to the Prudential Center it would have been so much quicker. Instead, I took the LIRR to Penn Station and then the Path to Grove ST. and drove back to my apt.

Newark is just plan dangerous.

I am so not getting out of my car down there again.

I always thought it was kinds like where i grew up in freeport Long Island. That part is ghetto but if you don't bother anyone then it's all good no one will really bother you.

Guess the lil rugrats like to hit.

I remember when in 5th or 6th grade like 50 kids were chasing this one kid.. but that was a gang thing. they got the kid but the cops were right behind them(50 black kids running kinda draw attention) and pulled everyone away.

I just walked right by no one bothered me.

I can not describe my hatred for Comcast. The minute they have FIOS on my block I am switching. I have had Comacast for two years and I am moving so I try to transfer online.. what happens doesn't work, call them can't find my address they transfer me, finally i talk to someone who can find my address and she sets up the transfer and appointment. I give her cell and tell her during the day call this if there is an issue.

what happens when i get home? i find a message on my machine telling me my appt has been canceled. so I call and try to make and appt for march 14th they tell me they can't. so they try to get me to do a Friday one. i tell them i work sorry i need Saturday. they tell tell me i can just do the install myself since i have all the equipment. so i'm like okay cool. they call me back and say no we can't do that. they tell me they ask me if t still want friday the 13th...cuz they have Saturday the 14th.. umm yeah I asked for that day already a hole. So finally I make the apt for the 14th b/w 12-3 okay gret got two weeks until they turn it off.

yeah no, so on the 10th my cable goes out and so does my phone.. but not the internet. We call. they had transferred the cable and deleted our phone number from the system. nice. They fix the TV with he cable cards in the living room and the phone. the next morning I go to turn on the tv in my bedroom. no cable. i call my husband and tell him to call these idiots b/c i'm gonna go off on them.

So on the way home I call him so he can move his car.. my phone doesn't work. wtf? he calls Comcast to fix the Cable and phone. They fix it. So great everything is working. We find out our apt has been changed to the 14th from 9-12

I call to try and fix this. I get told I am getting hit with an 80 fee to transfer my cable. The guy then asks me have i ever not paid a fee to transfer service and I tell him yeah. I have never paid a fee and I had com cast when i was in Massachusetts for college. finally the guy takes off one fee. I tell him I am not paying the other fees and the minutes fios is aviable I switching to it b/c Comcast sucks and FIOS internet is like 100x faster and doesn't kick ppl off xbox live b/c they think the person is file sharing.. yet if someone is file sharing it is all fine and dandie. At this point it has been a damn hour. Every time I do anything with these idiots it takes an hour.

Next day I do the same call. phone is out again. We do not call b/c it thursday we r moving saturday morning.

Saturday morning. I go to the new apt while my husband and brothers pack the truck. The comcast guy shows up and instead of saying comcast he mutters"cable" into the speaker.

I realize the phone modem is missing and tell the guy it will be here shortly. he then brings me the cable modem and asks me"well what is this then" i respond" i dunno, the cable modem.. shouldn't you know what it is?"

My husband arrives gives the guy the phone modem to put in the living room and it's all good. yeah not so much. after the moron leaves we realize he took the phone modem with him and hooked everything up in the bedroom. Thanks douche. I really want to fax things and have my answering machine in my bedroom.

They are going to mess up my bill. I know this the first 4 months i lived in jc i would spend 4 hours fixing my bill.

Oh and when i was on the phone with the guy about them changing my apt etc he was trying to tell me everyone was moving back from FIOS whatever bitches. such a #OOPS#ing lie.
My dad has FIOS it is so good. The internet is fast as hell and is not affected by the amount of people in the neighborhood who are using.

I HATE COMCAST!

sorry if there are misspelling etc.. i am really pissed

I get my hair cut at Japanese Salon in Manhattan and it is only $65. I have long thick curly hair. Everyone thinks it is easier to cut and blow out until they do it and I always get the "whoa you really do have a lot of hair" line.

That being said. Mika, lovely woman, does wonders with my hair. obviously they are really great at straightening. She cuts my hair wet, blows it out straight, then flat irons it, then cut it again to decrease the volume. She also gives me a 15 minute scalp massage(heaven) It is a pain in the butt to get there b/c it is in midtown East but well worth it. It is called Wave 55.

Most places will charge you to blow dry your hair and then flat iron it(for them i am just saving them time). At my Salon I get everything all inclusive. I have been going there for two years now and I recommend the place to everyone

We have been told to walk around and look for "for rent" signs around.

I would suggest looking into using a broker. My new apartment was a broker apt but the owner paid the fee. A lot of the rents are negotiable and if you do pay a brokers fee it should be no more than half a month. In the the long run it will be worth it.

also be aware, unless it is a new luxury condo, heat and hot water is not included. also most places require first month and a month and a half security instead of 1st, last and security. For 1600 you should be able to get a 1 bedroom with a den, washer and dryer within a 5-10 minute walk to the grove street path station.
