Bogart - you couldn't be further from the truth. I live in the building - the "attacker" was a friend of the deceased. May you NEVER have to walk through throngs of lookie-loos, police, and especially nosey scavenger reporters if somebody in your family dies.

What a lying sack of crap. Get him out with everybody else....

That was quite a posting - Mary. As a woman I find it extremely offensive that you try to blame in on that she's a young smitten girl for her actions. I second Gnome on that - you are a sick individual....

Last time - mentally ill isn't an excuse to break the law. Any of us can plead "mentally ill" with the right attorney. And last time - put yourselves in the cops' position - somebody stabs you, first reaction is to be compassionate and understanding - or do you defend yourself? When you can answer that question REALISTICALLY - then post something worth reading.

Take a xanax and relax. I did not say SPECIFICALLY that mentally ill people are ANIMALS. Criminals are animals. What that woman (who may or MAY NOT have been "mentally ill") did was CRIMINAL. It is against the law to attack a police officer.

You just read what you want to read and take it from there. Get off your soapbox and don't take things personally.

Robot - are you saying that mental illness is an excuse to commit crimes? How about that ANIMAL who killed the man at the light rail. He was mentally ill - but I guess in your mind - we should be supportive and nurturing. WRONG.

I wish death on NO ONE - however - HOWEVER - if you go after somebody else - EVERY SINGLE PERSON has a RIGHT TO DEFEND THEMSELVES. If they're mentally ill, so be it. If they're sane and made a mistake, so be it as well.

If you had your way, we would all sit by and let people violate us and then ask questions later. You revolt me.

If you believe half the crap that the bleeding hearts write about - the cops beat them and shot them. Then tried to negotiate. It is bad writing, but knowing Jersey City - nothing will happen to them, they will grow up to beat and rape women on the sidewalk, then attack cops.

I can't WAIT for you cry-babies to need the cops. And when somebody is attacking you or a loved ones, they'll quietly try to negotiate with perps. Pathetic, boring, tired way of looking at things. I reiterate - your way of thinking - that you can actually rehabilitate these ANIMALS - is why it keeps happening over and over and over and over again.

Until any of your armchair quarterbacks are in the same situation - shut your mouths. I would love to see how you would react if a mentally unbalanced person lunged at you with a knife and stabbed you AND YOUR partner. The news neglects to say that she stabbed BOTH of them - one in the arm, one in the head.

So save your "oh poor lady with knife should have been tasered" comments to yourselves. Its so obvious most of you are pro criminal - anti cop. THAT'S why this crimewave crap has been happening....

Greenville - did I say I was scared? And if you enjoy walking all your dogs with gunfire - more power to you. But you probably pay 800 a month for your rent; whereas I pay three times that. For that kind of money, I expect a different quality of life.

If YOU have a problem with Starbucks and Cosi - don't frequent them.

Did I say Kerik? No. READ. And as for national trends, then why the hell didn't Jersey City or Newark or any of these cities catch up with it? This is why I can't stand the liberal way of thinking. You all think that Obama can save the country, yet Guiliani wasn't responsibile for NY's resurgence. And if I spelled that word wrong, too f-ing bad.

I'm just tired of hearing how close this crap is coming to my neighborhood - a neighborhood that I'm paying good money to live in and was told that is safe. TommyC is totally spot-on - if this crime comes any closer - everybody is going to move out and the waterfront will just become an extensive of the ghetto.

I'm sure I will have several of you jump down my throat, but someobdy like a Guiliani in charge of the city would help. Look at what he did for New York City. That place was a filth ridden, crime ridden dump for so many years when the libs were in charge - and in just a few years, it became a place for familes, tourists, et al - kind of like what I thought Jersey City would be like. And I'm sadly disappointed. Who wants to be out walking the dog and having to duck for cover? Its ridiculous....

Apparently it started near Sandbar - my friend was out walking her dog when she heard the gunshots and ran for the hills. It really has to change and I'm afraid that its not going to. And the more we coddle these criminals, the closer and closer its going to hit home...they have zero respect for those of us who work and EARN our money - its easier for them to steal. And they obviously have zero respect for the police - but why should they? They get arrested and let out just as quickly.

Snowflake - its a maroon corolla or something like that - probably about 10 years old. You've seen the guy fishing on weekends, he talks to himself muttering disgusting obscenities under his breath whenever a girl walks by. He is the guy who boots the cars, yet his is ALWAYS illegally parked there.

This is the same place where the law-breaking scumbag making sexual remarks to all the women who walk by him as he illegally parks his car on Warren St. and fishes all day works. These people are crap.

With the taxes in JC - it makes MUCH MORE sense to rent. However, I'm sure those who are renting out their homes are losing a significant amount of money unless they bought decades ago....the taxes are crazy and on most of the condos - the maintenance is ridiculous as well.

Clearly you haven't taken a Hoboken train "in years" because if you did at rush hour - you would get some fat pig grinding into you. Its just as gross as the JSQ/Newark train. Trust me, I get off at Exchange Place so I have my choice of train and they're equally disgusting....

What's another way to get to work - the $7 each way ferry? Its absolute BS - if you don't want x-ray waves going through you - you shouldn't have to. And they say its "safe" - just like agent orange, Chernobyl, et al were safe. Its the government's way of making us feel good, when in reality, its a huge waste of money. Off my soap box now...

If its illegal to have your dog off the leash - then just don't do it. Its annoying to dog owners - like myself - who have to pull your dog off of mine because its not held back. And believe me, the dogs are ALWAYS off the leash there - the cops should frequent it more so you don't break the law...

The landlord may have meant electric grills - those are acceptable on most decks; however, the concern with gas grills is that if it blows up - you're going to most likely damage more than just your house.....
