My guess is that the MTA would never want to merge itself with PATH for one major reason. PATH is subject to a lot of Federal Railroad regulations, as it crosses state lines and is considered "interstate commerce," where as the NYC Subway is totally contained within New York State, and does not have to abide by the Federal Railroad regulations. The Port Authority faces much higher costs due to more stringent regulations and inspections, most designed for traffic between cities, not within an urban area. If the two systems were to merge, than the entire NYC Subway system would be subject to those rules and regulations.
Now perhaps there's a legal way around that, where the MTA operates the PATH separately from the NYC Subway, as it operates Metro North into Connecticut separately from the Subway, but it would have to be separate.

It's called "Balance." The tree is CENTERED between the two wreaths... not so difficult a concept. The "A" is not centered.

Hell NO.... PATH is only 1/3 of my three zone commute. I first have to get to PATH, then PATH into the City, and then the NYC Subway to uptown Manhattan. I'm not the only one with a 3 zone commute. We don't need more highways clogging the the two tunnels and the GW Bridge into NYC. We need more public subsidies for mass transit to help alleviate traffic conditions all over the tri-state commuting area. And last, but water under the proverbial bridge, we should not have wasted billions on WTC PATH station. We PATH riders pay a premium for that debacle every day.

We had similar experiences. Went there twice. Both times the food was bland and the side pastas were way overcooked to the point of being mush. If a place is bad once, I'll gladly try again, but two times is enough not to go back.

We have a 27" wide closet that can accommodate the wider 27" stacked units. Our 26 year old Sears Kenmore Wash Center (dryer attached atop a washer) died several months ago. We were, based on several neighbor's recommendations, going to get the LG stackable washer and dryer, both front-loading. But it would have been about an inch or less than the height of the door. We were shown the single unit ventless LG Washer/Dryer. It's one unit that is large enough to handle a king sized quilt, it washes then goes right into a drying cycle, if desired. Considering it's just my wife and I, it's keeping up with our needs. A full wash and dry cycle takes about 3 hours, and we are not left with those wet clothes you forgot to move from washer to dryer. So far after several months, both of us are very happy.
The unit was about $1500, and they also make a similar "compact" 24" wide model.

I'm not going to get into details here Yvonne, but you don't seem to understand the idea behind tax abatements. Let me explain how it works where I'm living now. I live in Port Libert?. 40 years ago this area was a total mess, it was filled with toxins and other really bad crap, and other than the fact that it was on the waterfront, had not a damn thing going for it. How much do you think it would have contributed to tax roles? Not much. So the city government at the time realized that some impetus should be given to a developer to get the area going again. The impetus was the right to sell the finished properties on this piece of land with a tax discount that would end in 30 years. They turned that decrepit piece of land into an oasis on the water. 30 years after the abatement went into effect, 440 fully rate-able units are now on the tax rolls, instead of the zero that would probably be here if no abatement was offered.
Hoboken, OTOH, doesn't have vast wastelands with toxic sludge or no development. They may have small pockets, but land there is incredibly valuable, so no abatements are needed.

Any and all of the televised fireworks started on time. Anyone with any professional show experience can make stuff happen on time.
I have no idea what led to Snoop Dogg's act being late, but someone needed to keep all the concert acts in line as to on and off times on the concert stage. 5 minutes late would have been one thing, but 45 minutes late, total screw up. Tardiness, short of health emergencies or similar, is one of the ruder things in this world. It's a sign that you believe your time is more valuable than others.

Isn't this part of the same group that tried to steal the ambulance contract for Jersey City from JCMC a few years ago?
The assumption was they would steer all their emergency calls to Bayonne, Christ, and Hoboken, where those emergency rooms would rip you off. They also are not "in network" for most major health insurance plans.

I'd rather be California or New York than Wisconsin or Mississippi any day. There is a happy medium somewhere. And quite frankly liberal states are doing much better than conservative states in so many different ways.

This is because some abatements are based on, at least for a portion of the abatement period, on a calculation that has nothing to do with the normal tax rates, but a formula based on the highest purchase price and common charges. It is possible for that formula to wind up creating a number that is higher than the unabated tax bill.

There is nothing wrong with "taking care of your own." But there is also nothing wrong with taking care of those less fortunate than you. I'm liberal and damn proud of it, but if someone does break a law, or tries to live without working to support themselves, I'm all for cutting them off. In the case of the "Dreamers," these are people whose parents came here illegally, but the kids were just brought along. In order to qualify for DACA, they must be working or in school, they must be crime free, and they pay fees to have their status. I refuse to believe that forcing these DACA recipients to live in fear as we've done over the last year is good for anyone. Those public officials and the rest of us that support "Sanctuary Cities" know that the best way to deal with crime amongst illegal aliens is simply not to punish those illegal aliens who's only crime is finding their way into this country. If the hard working, (and yes, most illegal aliens work harder at jobs that typical American citizens don't want), illegal alien knows he can talk to local police, he's more likely to step up and report the real criminals, including the few evil illegals. As far as the absurdly low minimum wage we have, when a person works a "full time job" and cant afford to support his/her family or even just him/herself, when companies like Walmart and McDonald's suggest that their employees apply to the government for assistance because those companies don't pay enough, it's those companies that are getting subsidized labor, and they're the ones living off the government teat. Yes, I will go out on record as saying that the difference between a liberal and a conservative is that liberals have empathy for all humans, and desire to change the status quo to help all people. Conservatives only care about themselves and those who are the same or already better off.

"Imputed debt service" is essentially the payment on hypothetical mortgage based on the conditions set out in the PILOT agreement. In my case, and I'd assume others, that mortgage is based on the highest sale price of the property's history, so you'd need to know that.
There are plenty of EXCEL spreadsheet templates that can help you figure that. Or find an online financial calculator. "Common Charges" are your monthly or annual condo/coop maintenance charges.

To the OP,
You need to find your governing documents. Somewhere in that large document is the Abatement Agreement, or PILOT/Payment in lieu of Taxes. Use that and the Abatement charge document you should have been getting twice a year, which also shows the calculation. Try to figure the arithmetic on that calculation. It may seem complicated, but it's really just Junior High level arithmetic. And then pay attention to the Phase Out that's documented as part of the abatement agreement, and apply that.

It would be really helpful if the Jersey City tax office could post "Preliminary assessments for the 3rd and 4th qtrs, 'subject to the affects of the tax re-val" on the online website." They could just mirror the 1st and 2nd qtr payments. That would help get around the most recent IRS Statement.

Additionally, unless you are in a life or death situation, and I know this is not as simple as it seems, look for 24 hour medical clinics for dealing with such treatments. Their rates are significantly lower than the ER, and these types of situations are exactly what they are designed for.
Obviously, a chest pain (potential heart issue) or broken bones, severe wounds, etc., head right to the EF. But pain that you've been living with, fevers, and other stuff that don't feel life threatening, then the clinics are a better choice.
