Bush was not platforming on unity

I don?t have a stake in this horserace (didn?t vote for Obama or McCain) ? but for the sake of historical accuracy,? Bush ?00 did run on a ?unity platform? as did Obama ?08.

Anyone remember ?I?m a ?uniter? not a ?divider?.? and all that talk about reaching across the aisle at the Texas

I was referring toh te second time elected although that might not have been clear...

You are totally right. You never have to agree with everything someone does or tells you...but as our next president we should stand behind him and believe he will create positive change. I don't think negativity about the situation will help anything. Coming together means not bad-mouthing or planning on disaster to happen...

I have said it again, and will say it before.

Please can't we come together and stop the division?!? This is getting really pathetic. We will all be able to experience the ups and downs of the presidency as we have experienced the downs together for the last 8 years. Everyone will be able to revel in the good that will come...

This isn't an "I told you so" game

If I misinterpreted it, my apologies, but it seemed that you were being snide along with your Bush statement. I am willing to support Obama through the ups and downs and blame doesn't need to be a factor in our world. We need to work together and support the majority.

I am sure they were lovely.

I am sure they showed their love for Obama.

What you may not know, is that Denmark has the highest individual income tax rate in the world (60%, compared to 36% currently in the US), and that is before they tack on a 20%+ VAT (value added tax, or sales tax) on everything they buy.

The Danes have never met a tax their did not love.

So I hope that their love for Obama is not a harbinger of what is to come to the US, lovely Jillian, or else we're pretty much effed.

That is true. Thank you.

My husband tutors a highschool girl that goes to an all girls high school in JC, and apparently they were let out early today because the bloods and/or crips are to kill 35 girls for gang initiation tonight.

Does this happen every year or what? I tried to look it up online but can't find a source.

Also...FYI-there is no street cleaning on Wednesdays.

Not all streets/neighborhoods require parking permits. If you live close to Bayonne then odds are that you don't need one.

If you can, go to court to fight the tickets. I'd also take photos of the area where you received the 2nd ticket to show that there wasn't proper signage.

Some areas have Wednesday street cleaning as well as Saturdays. Yes you must have Jersey plates especially if your insurance reflects your current J.C. address. And I believe the fee is up to $15. Here in J.C. we take our parking seriously.

Sorry for any incorrect info I gave...
I was just at the parking authority and thought it was still $10...and I didn't realize there was street cleaning in JC on Wednesdays...Shows what I know!

Today, I got one that said 'parked in non designated parking area' but I was not in the red or the yellow, or on a side of street where there was sweeping or anything else going on. I am starting to think I am getting ticketed because I have out of state plates. I am going to court to fight two of the three tickets. Any suggestions on how to stop this from happening? Also, having to move my car 5 days a week for street cleaning (which does nothing!) is getting pretty absurd.

I think a lot of people on this thread are confusing the term "hipster" and "Artist". They are two totally different things.

Hipsters are cultural tourists, posers. They add no value to a community. They are parasites. They move here from the midwest after getting a liberal arts degree, and once they get their city fix, they move back home.

2 things about this:
1) I am from the midwest and RARELY see hipsters there.
2) I am from the midwest, have a Liberal Arts degree, am not a hipster, and am never moving back to the midwest.

Where are you from Mr. Holier than Thou?
