Oh, please. So many Chicken Littles in JCLIST. Newark Avenue will NEVER be like Hoboken. There are a ton of restaurants interspersed with the bars. We don't have any clubs on Newark Ave. If anything, Newark Ave is blooming very nicely with a nice combination of restaurants, bars and other businesses.

Damn and they let the nicotine junkies

of them!

Went in there once during the day to look at
the menu as I'd never been there before. The
place reeked like an ashtray. It was disgusting.
Never went back.

If you would rather see Wegmans then Whole Foods,
contact the Mayor and let him know. I did.
Wegmans treats their workers much better then WF,
and they are HQ in upstate NY.
My vote goes to Wegmans.

Apparently, this is not a school anymore.
Looks like it's being gutted. Does anyone know
what it going to be? It's the school on the
corner of 7/Brunswick.

Food trucks on closed Newark Avenue

Why are there no food trucks on Newark
Avenue when it's closed? I think it's a perfect
opportunity to showcase them. Did the restaurants
complain and keep them out? I say bring
the food trucks in! Still plenty of room to walk. And you
can eat at the picnic tables.

Exchange Place and WTC are the only stations that are closed on weekends. You can take the PATH from Newark as far as JSQ and switch to a 33rd street train.

So Newark - JSQ and transfer to 33rd street train to Grove?

My favorite are the rude assholes that park right
in the crosswalks blocking pedestrians from using
the crosswalk. And my experience is you take
your life in your hands as a pedestrian walking
around downtown with the drivers that don't
think or know that pedestrians have the right of way.
And unlike people from the Midwest or
south or wherever they stand on the corner
and wait for the light to change even if there
isn't a car coming either way? Good for them,
I'm jaywalking.

When or where does the total perversion
of the second amendment stop? Anytime?
Anywhere? Where can you have a weapon? Anywhere?
Anytime? In bars? Schools? Hospitals? Playgrounds?
Etc...etc...etc?

If you want to hunt and do it humanely and
it's for food not trophy? Fine. If you want
to defend yourself and family in your home ? Fine.
But no way in hell should anyone but law enforcement
on duty be allowed to carry a weapon. What's next? The asinine stand your ground law ?

Why don't they tow the morons constantly
parking directly in crosswalks that you have
to walk around downtown? Or all the illegally
parked cars all over every side street downtown?
Are certain store owners allowed to
park illegally? And I'm serious about the crosswalks.
And what's with the gold shields people put
in their windows? Where do they come from
and why if you obnoxiously put it in your
window you don't get ticketed or towed?
Grrrr....:)

As the great philosopher Lynyrd Skynyrd
said:

"Well hand guns are made for killin'
They ain't no good for nothin' else
And if you like to drink your whiskey
You might even shoot yourself
So why don't we dump 'em people
To the bottom of the sea
Before some ole fool come around here
Wanna shoot either you or me."

Re: Third & Vine Restaurant

My Yelp review:

My Wife and I wondered in last night out of curiosity. We had heard that the space was going to be a wine and cheese bar. We were walking back from the PATH last night and saw lights on and crossed the street to look in the window. There's no sign out front and we were surprised they were actually open for business. The space is nice size and pleasant. Brian and his Wife are the owners and very down to earth and seem like really good people. We had the cheese board which was 4 different cheeses each with a side such as balsamic vinegar and pine nuts etc. delicious. Also shared the meatballs which were 4 small meatballs served in a cute little le creuset bowl. We were instructed not to forget to dig deep to get the polenta. I had 2 beers from a brewery in upstate NY, and my wife had 2 red wines.
Drinks were tasty.
It was a nice experience and I wish them the best of luck. Definitely a great addition to this part of Newark Avenue. The only thing that I would suggest is that they make a drink menu WITH prices. Until then you should ask. Our 4 drinks were $ 36. I think that's steep. One glass of wine was $10 and the other was $14. Each bottle of beer was $6.00.

Good. Ban it everywhere. Or come up with
helmets that the smokers would wear. The
carcinogens would only circulate around and

discharge station and plug their helmets in where
the carcinogens get sucked out and becomes
vapor. Ah to dream...

I'm not a smoker, so this ban doesn't really impact me. But, I agree this is just political grand standing, which probably isn't contributing much. I

If you want smokers to go to a discharge station, then agree to deposit your cars exhaust there as well. Thanks.

Don't own one.
