Not to kick someone while they're down, but half their stuff was not organic, despite their advertisements to the contrary. I once went in the back for a kids cookie decorating event, and was shocked that all of the materials I saw (flour, butter, etc.), were not organic. The whole reasoning for the higher prices was the "organic" label...

That, and $4 for a crappy iced coffee just doesn't fly in this town.

Looks more like Tex Mex than Mexican, which is what Baja was as well. Kind of sucks, because I liked Baja's fish selection and it looks like Blue Moon doesn't have much in that department.

This place is AWESOME. Have gotten delivery from there twice this week and they put out an excellent product. Delivery was fast, food was hot and tasty. Highly recommend the steak burrito. Get the word out about this place!

Went there a few weeks back with my wife and kids. Appetizers were great, as was the service. Then came the entrees. On my wife's gnocchi - a huge hair. We discreetly told our waiter, and asked for a new gnocchi dish. Literally 2 seconds later the waiter comes back and hands my wife the EXACT SAME dish, except they removed the hair. Really? I told the waiter that was totally unacceptable and he gave me an attitude. No offer to bring out another dish, no offer to comp. a dessert, much less the meal. Too bad, because I really wanted to like this place. Never again.

'Jersey Shore' Spin-Off in Jersey City

Say it ain't so...

"MTV's infamous reality show "Jersey Shore" is scouting for new party grounds and the show's producers have their eyes set on Jersey City, the New York Post reported in today's editions.

The Post reports that sources say that Jersey City officials have been contacted regarding the acquisition of filming permits, but Las Vegas and Los Angeles are also being considered for the next season's locale.

Although the show has been optioned for another season, the cast has yet to obtain new contracts, the New York Post reported. "No decisions have been made," an MTV rep told the Post."

They should start by kicking out the nasty homeless people on Newark (and a few blocks from JCPD HQ). They hang out, get drunk, pass out, curse at people practically everyday, with no repercussions. Pretty sure there is some open container and loitering ordinance in the books. Enforce it and get them out...

Is this a done deal? Can Ward E residents get parking permits at City Hall now?

City Hall Parking Permits
This ordinance represents a simple but significant change for the residents in Ward E. When passed, residents would be able to apply and pick up parking zone permits directly at city hall. Residents will no longer need to drive to Central Avenue in order to pick up the parking permit for zone parking or visitor passes.

As a dog owner, I too would welcome some lawns in the park being designated as "pet free." They already do this at Van Vorst, and the world hasn't ended for dog owners. Nobody wants to sit on a lawn that's saturated with piss and crap.

The assumption that this will somehow mean you won't be able to walk you dog through the park is nonsense. You simply wouldn't be able to let your dog (be it leashed or unleashed) piss and crap in the "pet free" lawns. This is totally reasonable

This is one of my biggest pet peeves about downtown JC. The trash on the streets in HC is awful. THe public trashcans are usually overflowing, and then you also have the bums who pick through the trash, ripping up bags and throwing trash everywhere. Add to that the fine students that dump their lunch on the street, and owners that could give a crap about picking it up, and you have the current situation. I have to agree that a lot of this is cultural - I don't usually see trash everywhere in PH. It's unnerving. Has anyone organized a weekly street cleanup on their block? I'm thinking something like this could at least galvanize those who care about how the neighborhood looks, and maybe motivate some folks on the fringe into helping keep the neighborhood clean.

Went there on Friday with my wife and two friends and we had a blast. The atmosphere was great, as was the quality of the crowd. The food I got was delicious (sausage sampler), and totally worth the long line. I have never seen so many people gather anywhere in JC, and the vibe was a great change from what you usually find in the downtown/ph bar scene.

Yes, there were a handful of obnoxious drunks at the end of the night, but what do you expect...it's a BAR! No different than the annoying drunks that often gather at some of JC's other fine drinking establishments. This place is a great addition to the neighborhood and I give kudos to the folks who dreamed up this place. Genious.

There is a storefront by Skinner's Loft on Newark Ave where random people just hang out, and it looks like they are selling some CDs. The place looks completely dilapidated inside, and the people in the store just hang out outside. It looks like the place used to be a cell phone store or something. Does anyone have a clue what this place is?

Where do you live. I live on 2nd st btw Coles and Jersey, and our postal carrier has left the keys to our building stuck on the door numerous times. He comes the following day and buzzes all the apartment asking for someone to let him in. We called the guy's supervisor but it has happened several more times. We finally told the guy we weren't letting him in the building. I would call their supervisor. This guy's negligence could cause someone in our building to be robbed or worse.
