Great thread!

A few from Greenville:

-jumping on the back (on top of the bumper) Bergen/Local buses and see how far we could get.

-Bradlees on 440

- Shoprite right across from it.

Security guards need to do their job. It needs to get stricter.

I personally love Ringside, and not afraid to go there.

We really are a tale of 2 cities when one speaks of this city.

I semi-agree. Add Greenville to the list as well. If we remove Greenville and B-L, this would be a pretty safe city of 175,000 or so.

My error,I negated to include the Greenville section as well.
Fact is, theres a certain element that will never rise above because of their own doing, proof is in the pudding, all the entitlment programs, subsidized housing, etc, etc...what else can society do???

F**** both of you. There are very good and hard working people who live in these neighborhoods. Racist CACs. Suddenly anyone from Greenville or Bergen/Lafayette is uncivilized? JC should separate itself from Downtown since it's infested with a bunch of half assed wannabe Manhattanites who do nothing but complain and whine about trivial BS.

WTF this is news!

I just got over a cold and was set to go back tonight.

I've heard glowing reviews about the new gym downtown, I think it's called Club Metro. Anyone been?

sounds like racism... maybe you're just not too "diverse" of a person. or maybe they just don't appear to be predominantly caucasian, like all the other bars.

welcome to the hood 1ststguy! too bad you never said anything about lucky 7s or white star. they have a rowdy/loud crowd there too that pours on to the street. duh. but maybe because that there's all "caucasian" people there and those are the bars you frequent.... what a jerk. leave those bars alone, or those people will go in to your favorite "white" bar and ruin your night.

im assuming you're a lucky 7 kind of guy. beach blanket bingo night is coming up. enjoy, buddy!

THANK YOU! Although they will fail to admit that this is what they actually mean, I know it and im glad you know it too

C/S

Believe me, if they close down my beloved Marias (New Music bo....whatever that sign says lol). I'm going to your bar with all my "ethnically diverse" boys and taking over your juke box and pool tables. And create "Bachata y Merengue nights"

I second JC Taekwondo, good school and good people. I used to instruct at Street Survival Karate on Clendenny Ave, where Master Bill Esposito was head instructor. We would cross train alot with Claudio and Felix, they truly love Martial Arts. They're not a McDojo like Tiger Shulman's.

And if I remember correctly, Claudio mixes it up with BJJ, so the students get well rounded training. Not just flimsy sport Taekwondo.

DK Park is also a great school, this is where my master began and learned all his belts.

Either DK Park or JC TKD are excellent choices, depends on your budget and proximity to the schools.

Sounds like a familiar technique used around Marion PJs for years., they usually put you to sleep, but I guess they didn't have enough time.

Be very careful out there, even when it's the middle of the day.

It sounds like an inside job. They obviously knew the money was there in both cases. I live near Terrace on Hutton, you can "see the money" parked in the driveways. Alot of business owners live in the area, so having cash like this on hand is common.

I was just telling my girl on Sunday while driving her home, "why doesn't JC have a 7-11?! or any hood for that matter". I wish we had one.

Yes, I said "hood"

And as I'm walking towards the Bally's yesterday, BAM! bright lights its 7-11! Wishes do come true in JC. Thank you out of towners for making JC safe enough to get our own 7-11!

This site is a DOWNTOWN JC site. I didn't notice this distinction until a month or two after signing up, since I only paid attention to the URL (jclist.com). It definitely does not provide an overall image of JC, just Downtown and its many complainers. There's alot more to my city.

The area around St. Peter's College and St. Dom's H.S. has old apartment buildings dating back decades including the Frank Hague building. These buildings have been converted into condos, not many people passing by realize this but it's an up and coming section of J.C. just outside of JSQ. Also around Lincoln Park things are turning around as well.

I've picked up a few females at the Beer Garden, Majestic and Jordans. Last one, I don't recommend, because this is JClist. :)

As far as Merchant, is mostly older school teacher types at the bar, do not want. Bring your own date.

LITM, uhm......won't ever go there again.

Silly question. Whenever I click on a thread, it automatically takes me to the last reply in that thread. I prefer to have it start from the (oldest) first reply.

I tried changing this option under "Edit profile" > Comments Sort Order, but it makes no difference. Am I missing something? or is this a forum default?

Thanks,
