Where are most county offices located now? The Admin building on Newark Ave. correct?

What happens to that space when they move into the HC PLAZA. How about the Freeholders' offices, are they going in the Plaza as well?

Thanks in advance!

Overall, sounds like a good idea putting the Sheriff's office and the clinic all in there with other buildings. We're approaching late 2008, I wonder how it's coming out.

Dunno for me it's all about what Fulop decides to do. I think Jersey City needs him and if he decides to stay in his seat I'll support him. However, if he moves up to higher office; I'll gladly support Skinner.

I've seen her speak at BOE meetings... it's great.

Ogden could be one of the safest and quietest blocks I've seen. However Franklin & Palisades is a rough area, from what I've seen and heard, but I walk threw there at all times of the day/night and I never had a problem.

I think Skinner will make a good candidate especially against that idiot Junior who might run again.

What if Fulop decides he wants to keep his seat and not go for mayor? People also think he's just going for an at-large slate...doubt it though.

Wow classic moments...

Don't be afraid about issuing a warrant for a parking ticket. If it's just one ticket they won't track you down and arrest you. However if they ever stop you and that comes up they'll take you in.

They'll probably go after you if you take too long to pay which at that point you may have your license suspended.

Nothing is worse then getting a boot on your car though, $125! Plus you gotta hitch the bus back to your car and wait for an officer or parking authority to come by.

Sucks that Fulop's ordinance didn't pass, which would of only gave them right to give you a boot if you owe 3+ tickets.

CARIDAD RODRIGUEZ - Commissioner of Public Affairs for West New York, Assemblywoman of the 33rd district, formly forced by law to resign from being Rep. Albio Sires's office manager.

Something needs to be done about this because it's out of control in Hudson County. People like Nick Sacco, who is in fact a triple dipper cause his principal job, need to be given the option to ether choose Senate or Mayor. These HC Mayors and Councipeople are not giving others a chance.

Is there any group I can join or anything I can sign to help put a stop to this? Only if Corzine can do SOMETHING right during his term.

In other states it's a FEDERAL crime to have two elected offices, in NJ it's encouraged.

RETALIATE!

I think legislation should pass law that a municipality should have a certain amount of residents or be a certain size or be consolidated.

Theres not reason why Guttenberg should exist. Merge it West New York or North Bergen. Hoboken a one sq. mile city should be with Weehawken. Cliffside park is also useless.

Cunningham and Smith must really love Jersey city though. They have "higher power" legislative position yet they are both willing to leave that seat to become Jersey City Mayor.

The Hill fights to become it's own municipality

read this very interesting article today from the Journal Jersey site. The residents of Jersey City's "The Hill" are fighting to become it's own city, Hudson City, because no one pays attention to them.

Hey if Guttenberg can be a city, so can The Hill.

THE FOLKS ON THE HILL

The members of the Hilltop Neighborhood Association say they have had enough. For years, they have complained about the Dickinson High School students' scorched earth activities at lunch and after school. They are livid about crime (despite lower police figures), dirty streets, lack of decent development and cloudy skies.

Residents in this part of the city and neighboring communities have felt so ignored and lied to (in their words) that there is talk of seceding from Jersey City.

Naturally, the chief voice of rebellion is the association's Richard Boggiano, who says he speaks for those who are afraid to criticize politicians. It is a little strange to complain about crime because Boggiano is, well, a cop. Nevertheless, he says secession may be broached at future association meetings.

The threat of secession was raised once before during the administration of Mayor Bret Schundler in the 1990s. Back then, the concept of creating a new municipality was raised when the administration wanted to draw new election district lines and planned to move a section of the Hilltop to Downtown. The Hilltop stayed intact.

Should a new municipality spring up, it would include everything north of the Kennedy Boulevard rail cut (PATH) and it shall be called, yes, Hudson City. Just don't order your Hudson City T-shirts yet.

Cunningham -Senate for Mayor?

I believe it was state in February 2008 that politicians are no longer able to hold two elected positions at the same time. This rules applies to all except to those who are already holding two seats. IE: Brian Stack & Nick Sacco...

Now doesn't this mean that if Sandra Cunningham runs for Mayor, she is forced to give up her Senate seat?

Senate bans dual office-holding
Posted by Robert Schwaneberg June 21, 2007 6:55PM
Categories: News, Statehouse

Meeting a demand set by Gov. Jon Corzine, the state Senate gave final legislative approval today to a bill that will make it illegal to be elected to more than one office after February.

The bill passed the Senate 33-2 with five senators not voting. It goes to Corzine, who has said he "probably" will sign it, even though it is not what he would want "in an ideal world."

Supporters called the bill the "beginning of the end" of dual office-holding in New Jersey. Several Republicans, many of whom nonetheless voted for the bill, complained it falls short because it allows lawmakers who already hold another elected office to keep until they die, retire or are voted out.

You notice in other wards you usually have members of the City Council say a couple a words about certain crimes. Usually Fulop comments, or Richardson comments, maybe even hold their own address about the issue.

In the heights case... Where the flying _____ is our councilman during any dam occasion?! I know he's at Jojo's drinking it up and hitting on younger females.

For those who know I'm talking about the Full-Time Chief of Staff to DeGise/JC Democratic Chairman/Local Drunk-Tard/Double Dipping/Machine Puppet/ The honorable yet worthless -- Bill Gaughan.

Smarten up Heights Residents, give Gaughan the boot.

Hey,

Does anyone know if the HCDO will have it's delayed peace conference tomorrow 2/18/08, at Lincoln park?

When canceled last week, due to Stack not showing up, they mentioned that it would be postponed for a week.

Any updates on it?

Thanks in advance!

Three Guys from Italy is the best pizzeria in Jersey City. It was great being able to go there after class and grab a slice, while I attended Hudson County Comm. Coll. It was still great to be able to grab a slice right before transferring buses while attending NJCU.

The place it self didn't look all that good, but once you bite a slice you become a fan! That location was golden, too bad it was forced to move.

I think the corner of Bergen and Fairmount would be great. I think an Indie theater would be great, being a filmmaker I would live in that place! I think it would be a successful theater and then i won't have to commute over to Angelika all the time.

Hm a bar on MLK drive, and there isn't any police enforcement patroling. Why aren't there police officers at least a block away standing guard? The police force is big enough to spare patrol cars to monitoring bar activity (outside the bar). it just seems like common sense to me.
