They ran the piece again around 9am and had one of the residents in the studio. But it was shorter and had less flavor.

Best coverage that Arnold ever had. Truly shows the face of those scumbags.

I think he got one fact wrong, Flood also voted for the emblem right?

Anyway, 7 people on the same list.

However, you could rightfully sue me for making such a statement of slander particularly as it would forever impact your name and you doing anything in JC.

Councilman Fulop had every right to contemplate suing JCI for furthering the public conveyance of what the JCPD has already investigated and found that there was nothing there as to this criminals charges.

More about me, yes, I could sue you. BUT, Fulop cannot sue the JCI or McCann. (He could sue McCann only if he can prove involvement.) JCI didn't present anything as evidence. They simply linked to it (and host it one their server). They did not create the report.

Understand that with your logic of suing JCI for this, Fulop could sue "NorthBergen", the creater of this topic, for linking to the pdf of the report.

Heck, I'll do Fulop a favor, sue me too.

Tried the Nissan & Toyota dealerships. I think they are run by the same person since very similar.

Nissan was only interested in showing the most expensive cars. Toyota, after the receptionist called for a rep at least 6 times over the mic, I just walked out.

Then went off to Linden VW.

I think it was their duty to their readers to follow up on the piece. Basically, they cleared their name.

Yup, looks like it. That post was right above mine. It would help if WB did that, or at least edit the post, delete everything and say "message deleted".

Did JCI request the fax or did someone anonymously send it?
Can anyone request random police reports for the city clerk?

I think its clear they requested it, but I believe anything that the city clerk gets a hold of can be requested. This might help. Open Public Records Act (OPRA) http://www.cityofjerseycity.com/city_clerk.aspx?id=1236

JCI has been nothing but professional about this. They gave both sides a chance to speak their mind and did not take any side. They provided a police report to the public. Truly "Independent".

If this happened to me, would I be happy, of course not. Would I threaten to sue the media? Nope.

Agreeing with JerseyCityPower on one point. He really hasn't done anything. Is he the best on the council? Yes. Is he the best we can have? No. I'm still sticking with Levin for Mayor and if Fulop was a team player, he would back him up.

With that said, lets focus not on the validity of what was said in the report, but how Fulop reacted. Threatening to sue media because they published a document? That alone makes me question if it were valid.

And lets not get so upset at McCann. Whether you like Fulop or not, he is an elected official. And whether good your not, they have to be confronted to keep them on their feet. All McCann did was present a police report from some years ago. A report that I guess nobody else confronted Fulop about.

This document is a police report, not McCann's report. Besides, this is called independent media. They post whatever comes up. Shameful move by Fulop, but does show his true colors.

Although I think that area where the trees come out is stupid, that doesnt mean it should become a lane. Not once have I seen traffic there. Traffic exists at the Marin & CC intersection. Making another lane wont fix anything, becase the problem here is that one intersection.

I couldn't care less about how many lanes they turn it into, but think of the cost. Not only the expantion but also the police that will have to somehow alter the lanes between AM & PM.

How about a bike lane instead?

A few years ago I asked about this. They said that since no independent lines exist, you will not save a significant amount of time. In other words, the express will be held up by the regular trains, so they might aswell stop at every station.

PATH was not ment for the volume of traffic it recieves today. Don't know why they don't build new tunnels. Same with the Holland Tunnel. They don't think about the future and just blow all funds on WTC.

Re: JC School Board Election * April 20, 2010 * VOTE
#43

Not sure, but it's really common sence. If you approve of the increase, you want a tax increase.

N.J. school elections Q&A: What happens when school budgets fail

Quote:
What happens if the budget failed?
School districts have two days after election results are certified to deliver defeated budgets to their local governing body. The governing body can trim the budget and recommend reductions in expenditures, or leave it as is. The school board is not obligated to follow the specific recommendations for cuts; it only must comply with the dollar amount. If a school board does not agree with a town?s cuts to the defeated budget, it can apply to the state education commissioner for restoration of the funds. If voters reject a second ballot question, there is no appeal.

Quote:
How much will my taxes increase this year?
Generally, the school part of a local property tax levy is not permitted to exceed 4 percent, although the law allows exceptions for specific reasons, such as loss of state aid or increases in health insurance premiums. The commissioner of education, however, has said the county superintendents will discourage school districts from using these exceptions.

But none of that matters to us. Our city voted for people that did not approve of the oversized and overpaid administration, yet they have no problem with them having more money to blow.

So I don't really know about Valentin. Don't see how he stands out from the crowd.

I'm kind of interested in Patel. I don't get her whole point about yoga in school and whatever but she talked about turning off the lights when school was not in session and switching to recycled paper. I don't really care about the schools going green, but those two things will actually save money.

Patel suggested that schools should switch to using recycled paper, and to stop wasting electricity when schools were empty

Thing is, once the first car doesnt let you through, the others will follow. Not because they are mean, just because they don't know how long you have been standing there. Countless times I stop and the person refuses to go, wants me to go first. They might think you're just being nice.

You just have to keep walking, and they will stop. 95% chance,

Besides, there is no notification of this law, its not magic that people are supposed to know. I'm sure even the police weren't notified.

Well, it's good that they are working at least at bit at night. I think there should be at least one crew working at night time. Doesn't make sence they stop working at night.

As far as overnight parking, I think the only logical way to ticket someone for this is if you log the car being there at say 10pm, come back in the morning, say 6am, and if its there, ticket it. Clearly not the case here, good luck.

Brennan said that it makes no sence to reintroduce an ordinance over and over again, as Fulop wanted to do. I agree with Brennan.

Question is if we will see the same type of view with this developer? Why do we keep hearing from him over and over again?

Wonder what Brennan's take is on this.

This law is a joke. Fact is in Jersey City, even when to try to be nice and let someone pass, it adds on an extra 10 seconds as they try to figure out if they should or should not cross. How about common sense.

Pedestrians will never get a fine and drivers will suffer.

Figures, Corzine had to sign it.

What's next? Stop for buses instead of yielding because yield isn't definitive enough?
