I suspected it is a metal also... but such a HUGE METAL on the wall??

It looks like dried out root of a huge tree with animal head...
Has an aura of Asia-Pacific art.

If it's a piece of art, I would like to know who and why made it!

Does anyone know what the heck in the huge wooden thing on wall of building on Erie st? It's right around corner from Basic Cafe.

It is on east side of the street, but the THING is only visible from across the street.

It looks cool, but it freaked me out when I saw it first.

Sorry no pics!

As an original poster, I can't love WhiteStar more, but I had a bad experience for the first time there last night.

I don't know if they didn't have enough waitress/bartenders, but this one waitress was very rude. She gave me an attitude when I asked for a glass of water, and took 10 min to bring it (after reminding her).

And my Corona came without lime. The food was slightly cold...

I know they are very popular right now, but I really hate to see them going down...

I hope it never happens again.

I miss my fav bartender Holy...

This will be sort of pointless, but I just love White Star Bar a lot and I want to show my PDA "Public-Display-of-Affection".

They have great food, good price, good vibe. Music could be tad on loud side, but hey, it's a bar.

I don't see my favorite bartender, Holly, these days but other bartenders are also nice (one can argue about their dismissive attitude, but I find them charming).

I just wish they have outside seating...

Their burgers are one of the best you can find in Downtown. (My all time favorite goes to Park Tavern, of course).

I am not affiliated with them whatsoever. I am one of regulars who can't stay away from them more than 3 days.

JCmorganSt , you should read throughfully before posting your opinion.

It's not that people are against redevelopment. It is because the city changed its original plan and changed max height regulation, etc.

The area will be cleaned out and turned into something much more attractive for your "class A" people regardless.

IMO. people don't want dozen more 40-storie high buildings though.

If the city is changing its plan only a few years into their 30 (or was it 40?) years plan, wonder what's gonna happen next....

Ooooh.. That Place!

I was told it's in Downtown. I didn't even think of the place.

I might drive down to pick up a pound or two.

Thanks!

I tried Savas yesterday.

I got Kielbasa w/kraut, rice and veggie, & Meat Loaf, pierogi, and pasta.

All of them are pretty good. Kielbasa was little dry, but with kraut, was very yummy.

My fav was Meat Loaf. It was soft and moist, and the best part was mushroom gravy! It was not too thick, but very flavorful. I would go back just for the gravy.

Although she overcharged me a few buck more, I didn't care. I was going to tip her. She was cooking Chicken cutlet, pork chop and serving me all at the same time.

It's great to have a place like Sava in walk distance. Great addition in downtown!

Constant visits by junkies using their bathroom to shoot up.

They charged a buck for a use of bath room.

I know one artist who got lthe ive/work place through the program.

I assure you he is everything you imagine artist to be. He works hard and put shows up constantly in NY/NJ.

While some other lucky artists who got the space could be "posers", he is one geniune artist.

Applicants have to be "certified" by the city and Pro Arts. You should ask them to disclose more info and authenticity of the artists in question.

I got my car broken in so many times while I lived VVP area.

They were so good and they only messed up Passenger side keyhole tiny bit. As a matter of fact, the lock still works.

They brake in as they wish, go through my glove box (nothing in there) and leave my car.

There were no harm, so I didn't bother.

Then one day, they broke my effing window. Only to steal a tweezers! F**king tweezers!!

The bastard needed to pluck his unwanted hair desperately.

The smell could be from the fish souce.

It could be quite a funk if you are not used to it.

They have by far the best Pho on this side of Hudson.

Gotta love the place.

Hi.
Does anyone know how to culculate Property Tax in Jersey City?

Is there any incentive for income class/neigborhood/etc?
