wow, sounds just like when i worked for a little irish (ball and chain chain) restaurant called bennigan's, minus the boobies.

also, this "WOW" service is a ripoff of applebee's terminology. maybe this manager worked for one of the applebee's franchises and is using it as a protocol for this chain...

don't make purchases over the internet when on open wi-fi connections...

go on spokeo.com and look up every email address/phone number/reference to yourself and have it removed. every few months i go in and re-delete my information because my home addresses and phone numbers often re-appear after creditors and other people who "share" information get it back on there.

off topic, but someone stole our jack-o-lantern too -- twice! My nine-year-old daughter carved it all by herself ... the first night we put it out, it got stolen! She was in tears. Then we made a replacement, and it got stolen on Halloween night!!! Seriously, what kind of person steals a little kid's jack-o-lantern???

the same type of person who stole not only my mom and dads pumpkins a few years in a row but also the bench off of their porch in the heights :(

This is a fantastic thread, as I'm looking at places in the area, too.

There is one off of Vroom and Jordan that seems interesting. Is it safe to say since it's closer to Journal Square and north of the college it's not too bad?

I know no matter urban area you're in, you have to look out. I lived off of Danforth. Been there, done that. :)

i used to live on summit off of vroom...the only problem i had there was my car window getting smashed and the guy who used to pee on our porch on friday night. we had a 2 bedroom with a yard, living room, dining room, eat in kitchen with lots of closets and heat included for $1200. i used to come home from work at 4:30 and hardly went out though and it worked for me. now that i live downtown i hibernate less but i do miss the large apartment and the yard.

i walk dogs primarily in that area...quite a few on duncan ave. the only problem i have up there is the few nosey neighbors who try to peg someone elses dog poop on me (i carry bags and pick up the poop.) other than that, it's generally very busy during the daytime hours and you see a ton of commuters and school kids going from place to place.

i'm nearly deaf but i don't understand sign language. what's the point anyway if most people trying to communicate with me don't understand it anyway?

so... with that useless and completely irrelevant tidbit said, is the deal still on for a free taco with a rush concert ticket stub??

these "brat pack" parents should be happy that doggy "diseases" and dogs being on the wrong lawns are all they have to worry about. i remember going to little league practice in the heights, greenville, and bergen lafayette and having to avoid the hypodermic needles on the ground.

i'm going to be replacing my fridge/freezer soon (too big for my tiny apartment and needs 1 gasket strip on the fridge) and it has a latch lock installed on it that you can padlock the fridge shut. i installed the lock because with a ripped gasket my dog was helping himself to my groceries.

if you're at all interested in taking my fridge/freezer please let me know and i can make arrangements to empty it and clean it out sometime this week. i'll get the replacement at a later time i just want thins thing out of here.

Corinne Wahl, she works out of her home near Park and 2nd in Hoboken. She's excellent, I used to have a dog walking business and a lot of my clients used her. I've seen her fix some terrible work by other groomers on yorkies, bearded collies, and everything in between. She even took on my anxious and none too cooperative pit bull once when he needed a bath badly and i just couldn't do it at home. Her number is 201-610-9527.

i second corinne. i used to walk dogs in hoboken and many of the clients i walked for used her. the dogs always came back looking great.

the owner, patrick healy, is a jersey city firefighter...however i think the pumping was being done to the street because there were no routes safe for traffic from the heights/jsq to get into downtown besides the 139 holland tunnel extension.

there is a little mexican taqueria on sip ave at romaine ave near journal square that just opened up about 2 months ago. $5.00 lunch special - 2 tacos and one of their homemade beverages. they give you plenty of limes and radishes to go with it and have a few different home made salsas there, including a green one.

also in bayonne there's a mexican deli/restaurant that serves great pork tacos. i believe it's around 38th st and on broadway.

i'm sure some of the ones in the heights are good too (cinco de mayo on thorne??) you just need to look around.

i think its just a video store that sells cell phones. they were very aware of what phones won't work on certain networks (ie: verizon dual band phones not holding proper data on at&t and tmobile)

for something used and affordable they weren't bad. they also have a ton of listings on craiglist so you can kind of shop for what you're looking for before making the drive.
