If you go to the web site of the orlando sentinel newspaper they have just posted a story on lopez. Please someone post the link to the story here.

Seems after voting for a tax increase in jersey city last night she flew back to orlando by breakfast. The reporter went to her home today to tell her she may owe as much as 33,000 in back taxes and she had the nerve to tell him she only moved to jersey city in march of 2008.

Meaning she doesn't owe the tax money because she lived in Florida but claims she is eligable to be a councilwomen because she moved here exactly one year prior to the election.Than why did she vote here since 1997.

She can't seem to keep her lies straight.

First she accepted the homestead rebate from Florida which can only be taken if your primary residence is Florida.Thats Fraud.

Second,She is registered to vote in both Florida and Jersey and voted in both places in 2003.That is Voter fraud.

She also has her license and car insurance in florida which if she really does live in Jersey City would make that Insurance Fraud.

She can't have it both ways.

I really hate the sidewalks they are installing on newark ave.
I know they are trying to make them look like old blue stone but they just look Dirty.

I like what they have done on montgomery with the island but so far i am not a fan of newark ave rehab.

I hear Andre Richardson who came in third was just Hired by Healy for 55,000 to work the Mayors Action bureau.
So much for being independent. He could have won this election for Lavarro if he had got behind him.

If you ever have driven on RT 46 to go to the GWB than you have seen the answer. They have cops with barricades stoping traffic from using the side streets. They will ask you where your going, where you live and they will turn you around. This may seem like it causes more traffic but after a few days people get the hint.

This building is almost in the water.Someone today said "well what if they go belly up?"
Than the next guy will buy it from the bank at a steep discount and be able to make a profit. Its the way the world works.

It kills me that we bail people out for their own foolishness.

I think in some spots on newark there are a lot of basements that run under the sidewalks half way. These have to be treated differently. This will be done later as you now have to span the open space. This may also be why they can't use pavers.

That said i do agree that the cement work on the sidewalks should have been done with a stamp.I don't like the fake bluestone look.It just looks dirty.

I'll wait till its all done before bitching.I hate when people look over MY shoulder when i'm working.Hope for the best.

Less than 24 hours till the voting starts.Lets send a message to City Hall and have the most votes in any ward, regardless of who you vote for.

Fulop was only one at the debate who seemed to know what he was talking about.Guy Catrillo sounded a little unstable.Riaz really came across as sincere in helping people.Jamie Vazquez just seemed tired and tried to recreate his glory days.

I like Guy but it cannot be denied that he would be another vote for Healy.
Say what you want about Steve Fulop,if he was not on the council we would not even know about half the stuff going on every two weeks at the council meetings.
This city runs on Apathy.Better that he is there shining a light than we all curse the darkness.

If City Hall Hates him than i like him.

Vote Fulop/Levin

I don't care if Guy is a republican nor if he does not know the difference between a dove and a pigion. That is a funny story though.I do care that if all of Healy's ticket is elected than 8 out of 9 councilmen will have County or city jobs.

Vote Fulop and Levin

Bump till May 12th.It does seem to be very low key out in the streets. If signs could vote it would be Healy in a landslide but no
one had more signs than Manzo in 2004 and we all know what happened to him.

12 Days till round two for some.

This is the only council person in the last Four years who has stood up and shined a light on every thing wrong with City Hall.

Is he a politician ,Yes who else would put them selves through such bullshit.

When you look up at that Row of just complete and other Hacks
on the city Council,i'll take the ambitious young guy who is willing to fight them every step of the way.

Been in hudson County for fifty years and i like this kid who breaks the balls of City Hall.

Can anyone tell us why we would want to change from Fulop to
1.Cattrillo- a guy on the public payroll since his brother was an assembleman.Healy Rubber stamp.
2.Vazquez-also on the city payroll.

Nice hatchet job.Elkind didn't have the guts to run for the council seat himself but he wants to tell everybody else what to do.The record speaks for it self. This goes double for the bitter ex aide.

Make the space a destination that people want to come to from outside the city. Then they eat in nearby places and shop in our stores. It could have multi uses but as an anchor i think
it would make a great venue for a curc de solei (mis spelled i know) type show.
Imagaine passing by those giant windows and catching a glimpse of the performers on trapeze.

We Need Entertainment Venues in Jersey City. The Loews, the Stanley and the Powerhouse could be some of those things.

This is pretty much a way for the city to make money every year.
While it would be important to make sure new Hi Rise buildings with their high pressure water needs are not contaiminating the water supply. Small buildings are not going to hurt our water quality.

City gets 75.00 a pop per building.Do the math, good one million in revenue a year.
