The VVPA tried very early on to talk to the developer, even before the 'spirited' meeting at Brightside. The first words out of his mouth were "I won't negotiate." During the lawsuit, the City also tried to come to an agreement.

It's easy to reduce this issue to parking and then dismiss the neighborhood as a bunch of entitled babies. As with most things, it's far more complicated than that. It's also unfortunate to see the City condemned for the lawsuit that the developer began.

Who was the judge that heard this?

Nonsense. Jersey Avenue will just parallel the already existing route. The only advantage that it will offer is fewer intersections and lights. It looks like it will be a faster route to downtown before it fills with cars and offers no advantage. What it does offer is a direct connection with 440 north from Bayonne and another toll-free alternative to the spur.

They mean to say Noon to Midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
We are paying someone who produced that wording for the sign, and we are paying someone who made those signs and we are paying someone to install them.
Judging from the comments concerning the wording of the signs and the comprehension of the posters, I guess I am not surprised they turned out like they did.
And you want to be the Sixth Borough.

It's a radical idea, but I think Jersey City could start out on the path to Best Mid-Sized City by installing more trash containers and Public Restrooms. Not just in parks, either.

If public schools were able to get rid of the few kids that make the most trouble, they would be a good part of the way towards achieving the same results that LCCS has.

I don't believe he was ever the Chief of Police, and I expect the current Captains are his contemporaries.
And he didn't resign. He was forced out and the process took a few years in the courts, costing Hoboken a fair amount in legal fees. Another strong move for which Zimmer was criticized.

Is it actually moved? I assumed that it just shifted the head of the line from Columbus around the Corner to Grove and Columbus. The spaces on Wayne are just for the tail of the line which will pull up to the front as cabs leave.

Rather than concentrating on making car use more difficult, I'd rather see initiatives making the public transit alternatives easier, cheaper and more wide spread.

WEARE, N.H. ? Following a Supreme Court ruling last week that gave local governments more power to seize private property, someone has made what appears to be a tongue-in-cheek pitch to take over Justice David Souter's New Hampshire farmhouse and turn it into a hotel.

The rest of the story.

People? Does anyone understand that they were in business successfully in NYC for about 20 years? And may still be?
The problem is with the matchup between the business and Jersey City.
Take note, anyone who thinks we are the Sixth Borough.

I wouldn't expect someone who thought it was a good idea to name their store something unpronounceable to be the type who could keep a store going in the long term.

They have had at least 2 locations in NYC and been in business probably 20 years. Jersey City gets nowhere near the foot traffic anywhere that Greenwich Ave. or Columbus Circle gets.
I don't have any trouble pronouncing it, either. Maybe because I knew right away where the name came from.
