Any chance of changing min age to 7 for next year for individual riders? My 6 year old can ride 11 miles already and hoping to do it with her next year.

Do they use bait and switch tactics like Liberty towers(LT) or 70 Greene at Newport? They offer lower rents first year followed by 15% plus increase each year after. I know a family at 70 Greene who moved 3 times every single year within same building to avoid rent increase. They were considered new tenants by moving to a different unit. What a pain. I have a friend at LT who's rent went up %14 this year. Let's see what happens when downtown market is flooded with new rentals next year.

There are usually day laborers hanging out by Uhaul by the 1&9 circle when you rent the truck. You can hire 2 guys online after reading their reviews. Uhaul site gives you this option to 3rd party hourly helpers.

I am surprised no one is talking about negative side of AirBNB in a neighborhood. We should be discussing stopping illegal hotel rentals instead of how we are taxing them!

"A fast-growing global phenomenon, airbnb?s biggest and most lucrative market is reportedly New York City.

Councilmembers heard overwhelming complaints about how airbnb is helping deplete the city?s affordable housing stock, while also creating building-wide security, safety and nuisance issues. Meanwhile, many noted, the city?s enforcement unit for dealing with the problem of illegal rentals is tiny and can?t keep up with the mushrooming underground industry."

http://thevillager.com/2015/01/22/foe ... b-share-views-at-hearing/

Since we are next to NYC we will get some of this side-effect as well. I could see why JC City Hall not having an issue with it since increased property values will yield higher property taxes. This opens the the door to investors coming in and artificially increasing already high housing pricing and over bidding regular folks since they can make double the rent vs. traditional yearly lease. Ask yourselves if you want to have a hotel room next to your apt or private home with total strangers showing up each week?

Has anyone seen the tentacles coming from that construction above chili's on Washington St. 2 days ago during high wind? Cops closed of the road one day last week during high wind. There is always crap flying off that building. Now that is negligence waiting to kill someone.

I changed my sitting position (seat raised high all the way up, normally I like to sit as low as possible) and also driving style due to potholes. I leave more distance between the car in front of me so that I can dodge them better. Worst are on the highway where they are between 2 lanes and you look at your side mirror while changing lanes. Lost 2 tires like that past few years. Now I have to leave many extra car lengths before changing lanes and after making sure not cutting off someone and then look ahead between lanes for potholes. Driving has become more defensive due to these suckers.

Its a race to the bottom. Companies don't pay taxes anymore but employees do from their paychecks. They should make these companies sign a contract that says you can't pack up and leave to another State for X number of years after your tax break runs out only for tax break reasons.

If you look at the license plate from pics it was a TLC limo/ high end cab/UBER etc. I assume he was waiting there for a scheduled pickup somewhere near by as I do see them on regular basis there when I go there for food shopping.

I hope they can get some prints of these cars and catch them.

I think we, JC residents should get a special discount to Holland Tunnel just like Staten Island folks get for Verrazano but I know it is a pipe dream. My reasoning is that our local streets and residents have to deal with constant HT traffic and pollution.

These people are professional panhandlers. Some of them use children and others put their bodies into very handicap forms to make more money. I remember reading a story about a guy over 15 years ago who used to beg by the Lincoln Tunnel entrance around 41st & 10 in NYC. They ran a story on him and found out that he lived in a very nice home in nice NJ town. He used to pull in more than 20-30K just during holiday season part time!

My understanding was that the landowner (owner of the liquor store-like place next door) pushed Rustique out (who built the oven in the first place) and hired his employee... This, and their copying but not matching Rustique pizza was the reason I hardly ever frequented PH (even though it's an easy location for me).

From my POV, this is either karma coming to bite back the landlord/liquor/fake-pizza guy or he decided he can hire better people do sth else more profitable with the space. Not a fan of this guy at all...

I remember that the owner jacked up the rent and pushed out the Rustique owner. I tried Rustique pizza after they relocated and the pizza was not the same most likely due to the oven.

I wonder if the owner is pulling the same trick of raising the rent again.

PH pizza was very close to the original from circa 2007. It was sad to walk by today and see it all empty. There might be a shortage on deli but I stopped eating cold-cuts long time ago. I rather have another pizza joint there with original brick oven recipe with fresh mozzarella instead of cheaper cheese that every other pizza joint uses including the new Krispy.

If you want modern quality stuff try DWR outlet in Secaucus. They have good prices compared to their retail stores. Also have major sale twice a year(one just ended few weeks ago). You can talk to salespeople and tell them to give you a call when they receive a specific item that you are looking for if they don't have it.

For this reason I refuse to give out my ss#. If they insist go to another Dr.

Also it is a good idea to freeze your credit with Experian, Trans Union and Equifax permanently. It costs $5 to unfreeze for a time window of your choice if you want to get credit card/ car loan etc and it is worth the small cost. After the freeze you don't need no lifelock etc protection nonsense.

So we will be paying more but we still get the same crowded trains that stop in Hoboken with no additional weekend service and no weekend WTC. great.

This was all pre-established back in 2011. Instead of raising the fare $1 they raised it 25 cents a year for only a 4 year span.

$2.50 ferry on weekend is much better than WTC path.

But the weekend Hoboken stop on the way to 33rd is painful.

The weekend ferry is temporary and subsidized by the Port Authority after many complaints by mostly downtown residents and constant pressure put on PA by Candice.

NYWaterway was conducting a survey last week to see if people would continue to pay little more at $4 a ride after the PA deal is done and WTC line is fixed.
