Eco is the eco detergent owner uses for wash & fold. I think he'll keep up with maintenance of the place - he put a lot of nice effort in to setting up a nice place. At least there's finally a really nice place to go to in downtown JC....so whatever....8p

JC ECO Laundromat
#35
Just can't stay away
Just can't stay away

I gotta say - I'm so excited to have a new, clean, uncluttered, friendly Laundromat in the neighborhood. I live on 2nd near Jersey and while we have 2 washing machines and dryers in our building, I can never seem to get the machines when they are free.

So I tried out this new Laundromat a block and a half away a few weeks ago and I while I hate going to the laundromat, this experience is really not that bad. The place is super clean and uncluttered, the machines are super modern and fast (I washed all my blankets, towels, sheets, and curtains in an hour for real).

The dryers are really hot and dried all my blankets and towels in 16 minutes. The prices are extremely reasonable. The owner is a really nice guy who is very eager to serve the community.

I don't know the owner from Adam, but just like to support local small businesses that deserve the kudos. This is a great addition to the neighborhood and I'm thrilled he opened there. He told me last night he may do a delivery service and the prices seem right. I still like to do my own laundry - I did 4 major loads last night in 45 minutes total. That would have taken me like about 3 hours in my apartment building - that is, if someone doesn't put stuff in the dryer before me when they didn't even do a wash.

Interested in hearing what other people have to say.....*:)

I live right near the place. They have had guacamole in the past - meh. Not that great. But I will give the poetry night a chance another time.

It's a great spot for Downtowners who frequent Liberty State Park - it's close to the lightrail.

I know the smell you are describing. I smell it as I drive over
the Turnpike extension on the way home. It's awful. Good
luck.

I have mapped out a route to get to the Pulaski headed
to Newark in the morning to avoid as much as traffic.
It's pretty good.

On the way home take the Turnpike to downtown.
It's funny to see the cops posted at the intersection of
Communipaw coming of the Turnpike, and then have
panhandlers walk right up to the car begging for money.
The cops do absolutely nothing to help with traffic.

I think they are there more to look inside cars to inspect
drivers coming into town.

Construction on 3rd Street bet Coles & Jersey

I just need to vent. I know nothing can be done about this. But it irks the heck out of me that a residence can conduct such egregiously noisy construction over the past three weeks. House on 3rd St bet Coles & Jersey jack hammering for the past 3 days straight, past 3 weeks of non-stop noise during the day. AAAAA just venting. Anyone else feel the same?

Been there several times now. Have to say the atmosphere is really nice, the staff is super nice (Brittany the bartender is super sweet), and the food is pretty good. They should try to maintain consistency in quality of food, but must say they are putting in a good effort at trying.

This is a great addition to a growing neighborhood.

Nothin for nothin, but I am a safe driver in Jersey City and I respect the speed bumps, and I encountered this particular speed bump, went as slow as can be over it, and I felt the entire bottom of my 97 Honda Accord scrape slowly along this bump. I avoid this street altogether now on the way to work so that I can maintain my sloppy jalopy since I can't afford over $300 a month in insurance for having a newer car (lease or owning) in DTJC.

I just don't understand why they are saying the increase in fare will go towards improvements in the Harrison and Grove Street Stations and not towards fixing the signaling problems.

Totally agreed. I know there are other threads on this, but it would be so fantastic to see a WF, Fairway or even Trader Joe's in DTJC. Disagree that it's the wrong demographics for it. So dismayed we haven't seen it yet.

I called Cedric based on recommendation in here. He set an appointment with me and when I called to confirm, he didn't even remember me ever calling, even though he texted a confirmation. So he couldn't honor original time commitment, but said he would call me today, and never did. Now I'm at square one again.

Not in order of preference, and an ever-changing list, except for #1-

1-Whatever I cook or bring home from my mom's.
2-Pain Au Chocolat regular and pain au chocolate croissants at 7am
3-Delenio's Pasta Bolonese with linguine.
4-Torico's 1 scoop of chocolate chunk and 1 scoop of mint cookies
5-Pecoraro?s bread. Period. Everything.
6-Skinner's Loft NY Strip Steak (Med Rare) with mash potatoes and saut?ed brusell sprouts on side
7-Juicing from produce at the Farmer's Markets at Grove St, Hamilton Park, Van Vorst Park, or the health food store on Newark Ave, including wheat grass shots.
8-Lemon Salsa chicken with yellow rice, black beans, and sweet plantains from Hard Grove (with hot sauce)
9-Bartholdi Burger at Left Bank (or substitute with chicken) and sweet potato fries
10-I'll leave this open to new culinary experiences.....

The cops are definitely warranted in the morning, for which I encountered crazy traffic earlier this week. But later in the day - not necessary. There is not nearly as much traffic in the evening rush hour.
