Similiar situation I have. The TV box started to go bad by not able to show channels I know I have, I called, and they sent me a new one, never said that I needed to returned the bad one.

A few months later, when I really sat down to dissect my bill, I realized I was being charged 2 equipment rentals fees? yup, I had been paying for the bad one the whole time. Good thing I still have the old box and didn't throw it away, otherwise god knows how many hundreds of dollars I would be billed.

Verizon is really a scumbag when compared to Direct TV that I used to have.

JSQ Apt Rental

Just can't stay away

I know there's a classified section? but its not working, I tried posting there many times, keeps giving me errors.

I have this 3 bed unit for rent, available immediately. Quiet second floor unit centrally located in JSQ, around the corner from the court house, literally 5 minute walk to the PATH. Completely renovated, everything new, including dish washer and in unit washer & dryer combo.

I am the owner so there's no broker's fee. I will attempt to do this on my own for a few days, then I will list it with a realtor, at which point there will be a broker's fee. $1850/mo firm.

Please email, no PM as I don't check my PM here.

There's a cop van that idles pretty much all day long in the parking lot of the old court house on Newark Ave, and then there's a cop car idling pretty much all day long in front of the new court house building also on Newark Ave, while the cop directs traffic?

Lets start with those two.

They will ruin the Newport stop even more. If you have to wait for a train or two to pass at Grove due to overcrowding, forget ever having enough room at Newport.

The only way to get on for folks at Newport will have to be take the train in the opposite direction to JSQ, then get on the empty train going back. I did it every morning during Sandy and sure beats missing 3-4 trains in a row.

What a sh it show last eve at the beginning of the delays. 33rd station had 3 trains fully packed, and the platform was fully packed. When the first JSQ train (my train) finally got the ok move, NO ONE ELSE was able to get on from 23rd-Christopher. The conductor had to lie about the next train being empty to stop people trying to jam themselves in.

Little did they know that all following trains would be fully packed as well!! LOL? SO GLAD MY STOP IS 33RD! I WAS CHILLIN IN A SEAT CANDY CRUSHING!!!

Why the hell would you rat an elderly or sick neighbor who cannot shovel even if they wanted to? This shows what kind of neighbor YOU really are!

Great idea!

And I am sure some consulting company will make a few million bucks to come up with the same EXACT idea for the bid wigs at the Port Authority.

In the morning I think there are two WTC trains for every 33rd St train. The second WTC train is usually pretty empty, and the 33rd St train is always packed. This should be reconsidered.

Coming home in the evenings - and this has been complained about a lot - the Hoboken-bound trains are pretty empty while the JSQ-bound trains are really, really packed - especially after about 7:00 pm. Jersey City has grown exponentially more than Hoboken has in the past 10 years, and the ratio of trains has remained the same.

Seriously, the solution is simple, just send out more JSQ-33rd trains, even if it means lessening the frequency of some of the other lines. That line is where most of the growth is, and will continue to be.

The 33-JSQ trains are unbearable between 6:30 and 8 p.m.

I've suggested before that the trains from 33rd Street should all terminate in JSQ, meaning that the train on the Hoboken side should operate as the weekend train does (HOB/JSQ). There wouldn't be a reduction of service on the Hoboken side, since their stop is the first after NY, and it would relieve some of the crowding on the direct to JSQ trains. I think this would be the most logical solution for the increased ridership anticipated with the new developments.

All I know is that as hard as it is now to get on the 33rd trains during the morning rush at Grove & Newport, once Journal Squared is complete and rented, it will be 100x worse because every single train that leaves JSQ will be already fully packed.

Do you think the people downstream will have a chance of ever getting on?

NOPE.

First of all, Newport was my FORMER home, got the hell outta Dodge with 6 figure gains!

Secondly, Newport was merely a railroad terminal, not a chromium producing chem manufacturing plant.

Location Location Location.

Doesn't matter if the clean up is 100%, or 200%, if it is a fact that the property is on what it used to be contaminated land? people will see it as such. I know people in Society Hill who couldn't wait to get the hell outta Dodge ASAP.

If you had not documented this as soon as it happened, its a case of you said he said, and you wont be able to prove it was him (his crew) that did this.

You would just end up losing more of your time and gaining more frustration. Live and learn, sadly this is a l$700 lesson for the future.
