I moved here from Manhattan in 2010, and I must admit I've been HUGELY disappointed. Getting that tax bill was, honestly, the last straw. At present, Jersey City offers ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to city residents - the police suck, the schools suck, the streets are filled with garbage...... I could go on, but - I'll stop.

Oh - let's just leave her alone. She's probably like 23. Too young/dumb to know any better...

I do have to admit, this posting was certainly one of the sillier ones I've seen on JC List. Not quite sure why "Dora" felt it necessary to wish us all a "goodbye". That being said, good luck Dora. Your post indicates you have yet to live in Manhattan. I lived in Manhattan for 11 years and am VERY glad to have moved on. You might one day find yourself back in Jersey City. However, I'm almost certain we won't be seeing any "I'm back!!" posts from you....

I've had VERY negative experiences with them. Try to stay away at all costs...

Does anyone know of any trustworthy mechanics/auto body folks here in Jersey City? I've been looking for someone good since I've moved here.

I highly recommend Project Pilates. I train privately with Christie (the owner of the gym/studio - she's excellent : ) and also take several small group classes. I've been in classes with most of the instructors and they are all very knowledgeable, supportive, and motivational. Plus, the space is great.

Before moving to Jersey City, I trained at several small pilates studios and also did some pilates training at Equinox. I must admit, I'm much happier with the quality of the instruction at Project Pilates.

Hi - I'm looking to have some windows replaced. Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations for a good contractor or window replacement service? I met with Home Depot, but their quote seems VERY inflated to me, so I want to shop around a little bit...

Packages Being Stolen on 7th Street
#41

Wanted to give everyone a 'heads up'. My neighbors and I (on 7th between Manila and Erie) have had several packages stolen this week from our front hallways. The packages left behind have been slashed open (I'm assuming to see contents and whether or not it's worth taking). I receive packages daily and this has never happened until this week... Has anyone else had this happen?

Yes, that's the place. I think radryan was trying to be funny... Permit posted on front says '5 floors-4 residential units'. Unless we're giving former convicts/druggies floor-through apartments these days - I'm assuming it will just be another residential building...

Does anyone know what is being built on the corner of Erie and 7th Streets? The building is about 5 stories high. I can't seem to find any info on it...
