Only thing you have to worry about in the Hamilton Park area are strollers and dog sh!t. Other then that the area is nice.

You probably won't find this information anywhere. The original poster seems to be a troll causing trouble.

Want to solve the problem of cashing out sick days? Allow the employees to sell back a weeks worth of sick days at a rate of $0.75 to the $1, every year when they hit 8 years employment and have accumulated a certain # of days.

It is win-win for everyone.

Each will receive nearly $500,000 when they retire for unused compensation days.

Deputy Chief Nalbach even had the nerve to say, when he retires, Jersey City will have to give him Paulus Hook!

And of course Comey will just go back to his day job of running his private security company.

This is the police force protecting us?!?!

I am more worried that the city is wasting tax money on saving ducks!

Unless of course the city plans on crating them, force feeding them, and then selling their liver to off set the city budget.

That is the only reason the city should be involved with ducks!!

I've noticed the 'alleged' offender watering all your plants this morning.

At least she has the decency to keep all your plants healthy.

Any further news on the public flogging of this woman?

I noticed last Thursday several police cars slowly canvasing the Hamilton Park area. I wonder if they were out looking for this scofflaw.

The taxi's can't pick up fares in NJ so they are also charging you for their time back to NYC.

Why would anyone want to have a public service ran by ANY private company?

Not only are you paying for the services, but you are paying for that companies profits? If profits fall for the company, then they will cut services/maintenance costs to cover the short fall or raise prices. Either way the public is at the mercy the % of profits, which to me is no way to run a public service.

Here we go again. I hope the judge looks at this law suit and uses the paper it is written on to pick up dog shit. I love how they are stretching for facts here. "pantifs and several hundred concerned citizens" <-- If the LHSU website is a representation of these 'concerned citizens', then 95%+ were from out of state! I think the # they use is 2,300. I also love points 91-95. Seems like this was filed before Mr. Levy was arrested for making terroristic threats via Facebook.

I got confirmation from some friends that the Bruce that got killed in Belize is not the same Bruce, the one who is a Mets fan and drinks at WhiteStar .

This was confirmed by the owner of the WhiteStar.

But honestly, what are the chances that there are two Bruces from JC that both live in Belize?!

I like the embankment as it is, no need to tear it down.

As for Hymann, I've been reading about other 'developments' he's done for Jersey City and I will not shed a tear if he loses the fight over the embankment.

Wolves aren't native to NJ, and unless someone dumped them there, I doubt what you saw were wolves.

Now coyotes, or feral dogs are a whole other issue.

http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/coyote_info.htm

As for the wolves of the two-legged variety. Best to lay traps down for them. Maybe they will gnaw off a leg or two trying to escape.

Sad to hear about the dog. But this is why dogs should only be off leash in dog runs!!! Figure I'd throw that in there.

Let me get this straight.

You would prefer to have a shelter that fails state inspection; thus forcing the State of NJ (or is it the County of Hudson in this case) to take over and turn the shelter into a 7 day kill pound, for the sake of pushing a no-kill agenda?

IMeaning, you are willing to put a personal agenda ahead of the lives of all the cats/dogs at LHS.

the problem is diana jeffrey signed a contract with jersey city which stated that the building would have a 4,080 square foot expansion, holding 74 dog runs. the construction was never initiated. now the interim board is complaining that they've inherited all these problems, when they really contributed to them. so rather than playing the blame game, maybe people should start taking responsibility for their actions, or lack there of, and start doing the right thing (rather than killing the "overpopulation" of animals in hopes of passing state inspection).

This is all I needed to know. Thanks.

Quote:

Then new people came in and decided that doing it quickly was more important than doing it right, leaving animals in torturous conditions and greatly increasing the likelihood of the shelter being seized and turned into a 7 day municipal pound. The ONLY reason that did not happen is because those three ex-board members stepped in that night. If not for that, the reckless, inhumane, and totally arrogant attempt at No Kill with No Plan would have cost nearly every animal in that shelter their life within a week. This mess happened under the watch of people that you praise, and if the shelter now fails because of three failed inspections (the first two of which Joanna 'neglected' to inform the new Board of) it will be the result of not this Board and the ones that came before it, but of the Board, the Development Director, and the Executive Director that all left a month ago. They created an unholy mess, and because you and your friends could beat your chests proudly and claim to be No Kill animals suffered, were tortured, and may die. As I have said before, one just needs to read the inspection reports. This nightmare happened on YOUR watch, and no amount of debate on policy or procedure, or attempt to attack those who have come back from the past to try to save the place can change that.

True.

It is only an assumption on my part about the finances, and I hope I am wrong.

But it irked me some when I saw the call for help (in regards to the dryer) on facebook. But this is due to my own experience in running membership organizations and philanthropies...
