furloughs wont make a dent.

just fire anyone who works for Jersey City but lives in bayonne, hoboken, bradley beach, etc.

that'll clear out the highest earners and some of the people who actually know what they're doing (no overlap between those two groups).

then, exact a hiring freeze for two solid years at least...

wait for it... wait for it...

and then hire loads of jc people in time for the next election.

BAM

i disagree. why fight over "just compensation" when the jerk has no right to the property in the first place? let the current process put the property back on auction.

also, it's cute how hyman said she supports gentrification. nobody told her it's a dirty word? and nobody told her hamilton park doesn't need it?

yes I just quoted myself! well referin to it anyway

ok! maybe i was wrong about the Board being more irresponsible than john neu... or joanna hopkinson (j-hop?)... but this entire county's humane society culture needs a real turd-busting.

jc animal control are bums who dump kittens at the park... the Exec Dirs are unable to lead... the treasurers are unable to mak an accounting... the donors won't take their hands off the wheel... and now the HAA thinks they're part of the solution?

hmmmm... these folks have to get it together before all of their funds dry up or the state takes over. i just can't goddamned believe our humane society is an abbott district.

p.s. the poster above was right. go to the source of these pitbulls with free spaying and neutering in the rest of the city. too much supply... insufficient demand!

who gives a shit about any of that?

he's right that the EMTs should continue triving to revive the child until a doctor says no go.

it's quite simply not in an EMTs training or skill set or position - occupationally or morally - to determine otherwise.

for instance, if the bathtub water was cold on order to cool off in the summer, perhaps hypothermia would yield a lucky result for the child.

not knowing about such facts... the EMT should keep trying to revive the unlucky kid.

on everything else, robotjustin shows greater intellect and depth in his argument, as well as more passion. some others like Slacky were pretty emphatic and smart about it

their only fault was thinking the person on the other end of the internet really gives a damn or could ever give a little

Where did "DJC" come from?

i wonder how long the guy waited around for such perfect victims. between those cameras, the project's cameras, the gas stations (buying cigarettes), the mall, and people driving by someone must have seen a guy of this description.

too bad he can't stick up the people in his own neighborhood who have money: the dealers.

what this town needs is an Omar Little or to clean house

Come on all you city workers who are reading this while pretending to work...

I expect lots of responses when you get in tomorrow at 9... er, 10... er, whenever.

As to pd/fd... most of those guys don't live in JC anyway so the powers that be shouldn't be too worried about their voting bloc. It must be a concern about union matters and the public's perception.

not really. there's no political will to do this from up top and the PD itself is managing it's budget priorities as it sees fit.

obviously, enforcing a relatively new traffic law is a low priority. and it's not about crime-fighting. we're talkingabout traffic laws and public safety in crosswlks. not crime. but, the cops will get some crime-fighting done at the same time. warrants. drugs. DUI. etc.

the cops are probably focused on crime-fighting and manpower deployment.

if they don't have copstat or an integrated public safety plan as modern, professional cops should, they'll limp along and we'll be their crutches
