wow ... seriously Yvonne, as you a woman of years, I would have thought gossip over the back fence and callers on the Rivera Show would have you speculate the validity of their claims. Next you'll tell me that everything said on the Jerry Springer Show is also the gospel truth too.

Geraldo Rivera is my hero too !

Can you tell me how a blind man could purchase materials for a bomb? You can't, therefore the blind sheik had help. As many people that was associated with the 2nd attack on the WTC were perhaps associated with the first. In 1993, there were fewer mosques in JC. People who attended that mosque in Journal Square knew what was going on.

What are you even talking about?

So, again we avoid common sense and make me the issue. You have a noncitizen who is blind and and unfamiliar with the area. He is planning the destruction of the WTC and he does this without help? So who is blind here? This sheik had help and his helpers most likely partied when the second attempt succeeded.

You and common sense have nothing to do with each other.

The blind sheik who planned the first WTC bombing was 55 years old with other health problems from what I read, so he had to have people helping them. His helpers were worshiping in JC and I presume living in JC. I said I don't believe the average Muslim person celebrated but I believe what my neighbor said as well as the callers on the Geraldo Rivera talk radio show who said similar things. I was also in Jersey City on 9/11, I saw plenty of freaked out people, not a single one was happy that day.

There is also the other side to the fight for $15.00. Seniors on fixed incomes will not receive a COLA increase from Social Security this year; if they are seniors receiving state pensions, they haven't received a COLA increase since 2011. A $15.00 will double the cost of food and other services to that particular group. In 2015, the minimum wage in NJ is $8.38. That one dollar can of peas might cost $2.00 with this increase $15 increase.

Really, you are are against minimum wage workers making more money? You really just come here to bitch about anything.

For years, Jersey City has been providing health services for the poor for uninsured children, adults and seniors. It also provides for the treatment of STDs. With our high population of immigrants in JC without health insurance, I am concerned about this. The city has always provide these services with some if not all state funding. What is the purpose of this? I still remember Fulop trying to give the EMS contract to Carepoint, so what is the purpose of closing down our services and giving out the contracts?
I suspect Fulop want to give contracts to his political friends that donate to his campaign.

Ok, so now you are just speculating on something the evil mayor might do? Do you not have anything better to do?

The people who works the polls are usually senior citizens on fixed income. Apparently, Fulop has no problems taking away their income but is more than willing to give Redevelopment loans to rich developers, including Bruce Ratner, who has a sketchy past then give 20 to 30 years tax abatements. Fulop wants to control the election process which is nothing but anti-people.
There are usually two people in a runoff, one who is well funded by developers and usually an independent. Fulop wants to shut down the independent. Fulop spending has increased $50 million since Healy left office. Somewhere in that $50 million, the city can afford to pay for run-off elections.

Lol at using anti-something in a sentence, you are anti-everything.

Hi Guys:

Really, it's time to get over the food court controversy and move on. (Don't you have anything better to obsess about?)

So here are the facts, for those willing to hear them. (Several of you have shown not be interested in facts in the past, so I'll address those who are.)

1. This plan is being pushed behind the scenes by a few restaurants who feel that Downtown Jersey City homeowners and residents should subsidize their customers' free parking at night. If my motives are as suspect as you seem to think they are, I should be for the plan given that I own a restaurant. But, believe it or not, some people actually push for things that are against their financial interests. Amazing isn't it!

2. Giving out free parking (and in this case giving out MORE free parking) is the exact opposite of what intelligent city planners do. Listen to this Freakonomics podcast.

http://freakonomics.com/2013/03/13/pa ... eakonomics-radio-podcast/

Then take a look at Donald Shoup's book "The High Cost of Free Parking."

It's really an open and shut case. The plan is insane. People WILL park and ride (they're already doing it) and there will be less turn over of spaces.

If it makes it easier of some of you, try to imagine me as the owner of a different pizzeria.

With lots of love,
Aaron

Nope, and most here don't believe anything you have to say so move along.

I was responsible for the tree planting that occurred around Van Vorst Park in the early 1970s. In fifteen years, sidewalks start coming up and several residents complained that the tree roots grew into their water/sewerage or gas lines. Where you see uprooted sidewalks, you have roots doing the damage. I had a tree growing into my sewerage system that caused backup. I know what I am talking about. I have no problems with trees in area that have open space not connected to concrete. The city will never maintain the area once the sidewalks are uplifted and you will have people tripping and falling. These are facts that should be addressed. Put trees in containers.

Having a well known artist doing some really cool murals in Jersey City is going to bring some positive attention the JC art scene because of that. Saying it's lame seems like you have an agenda against other people coming in helping make the city better.

Perhaps you do not have to deal with dialysis treatment. I expect the city to take responsibility for the mess they created. Before the merger of the Parking Authority to the JC Police Department, everyone who is a resident of JC received a parking permit. Now they are not receiving a parking permit. If I am being treated as a second class citizen, then I should not be required to pay taxes to this city because I do not enjoy all of its benefits. I am not a recent arrival to JC, I have family here. So my answer to you, I want to be treated like other residents in JC, if they are allowed to have permit parking, then I should have permit or stop giving me a tax bill.

Here we go again about the parking.
There is parking everywhere, sometimes you need to look around for a spot but I have lived here for over 20 years and have never not been able to find a spot. Worse case there are garages and lots all over the place.
