I asked the same thing of the guy in the truck. I'd heard they could reuse the existing coax and he confirmed it. So, assuming you have a solid connection (not too many splitters, dodgy connectors, etc.), you can reuse the same cables.

If you re-use the coax, I would imagine any benefits brought by the fiber-optic cables would be negated.

Or am I just totally wrong on this one?

I disagree. I have Directv, and I love it. To me, Comcast is the one that eats dic..... err... isn't good.

this morning at the WTC hub i paid $30 for 2 adult one way NY Penn -> EWR, which i thought was a lot

so i checked their website www.njtransit.com

NY Penn -> Newark Penn $4
and, like i paid, NY Penn -> EWR = $15 ($5 airtrain so a $10 fare)

so why do you get hit with an extra $6 penalty? i understand EWR is slightly further down the track, but NY Penn -> Elizabeth comes up as $5.50 and Elizabeth is even further south down the track than the airport.

is this really just a tax for people getting off at the airport?

Or you could pay the $5.50 for a ticket to Elizabeth and just get off a stop or two early! No penalty for that!

Re: KIOSK BADGERING AT NEWPORT MALL

I work in the Garden State Plaza. We used to have a dead sea salt kiosk outside our store. The customers were in such a hurry to get past them, that we saw a huge decline in foot traffic. We complained to mall management, and they were moved to a different wing.

I'm with you on the Realtor Fee, Suze. When we decided to move to JC, we passed on a number of great apartments because of the realtor fees. I would have much less of a problem splitting the fee with the landlord, but to pay an extra months rent, for a realtor to do not that much work is absurd.

Oh, god... I simply LOATHE Comcast. So much for having a choice in cable providers.

Well, if it is such a waste of space, why do you keep coming back and contributing?

I think it would be a great idea to link the bus routes with the light rail/path but I DON'T think that ANYTHING should be linked with MLK.

Last thing we need is a way for those animals to mingle with us. Like Chris Rock said, "If you on MLK blvd, there's some shit goin' down!"

Re: Am I getting screwed by the JC Parking Authority?

The date on the ticket is the court date and time. You can NOT show up on the appointed day at an earlier time and expect to be heard. You will most likely be told to come back at your appointed time. You CAN, however, change the court date and time, provided you call at least a few days in advance. Should you change the court date, you will NOT be charged any additional court fees.

My advice is to take pictures of all signs on the street. If you do have a parking permit, take a picture of that as well. You should also take a few minutes and look up the parking code, so you can arm yourself with that as well.

Re: Heights: Jersey City teen beaten by driver after car is scratched, cops say

something similar happened to me a couple years back, although it was in a mall parking lot, and not JC. Some punks who thought they were cool kicked the side of my car while I was waiting at a light. They laughed when I yelled at them, but they starting shreiking like little girls when I got a hold of the slowest one. Not one of the four that got away came to help him. I guarantee that they won't being doing that again anytime soon. I am all for this guy beating the life out of some punk, but do it with your feet and fists, not a tire iron.

That's crossing the line.

Anybody dumb enough to play the "I went to the mall, then bought a pack of gum from Shoprite" card, really should be sterilized so they cannot reproduce.

Do you really think any of us belive you? It is posted in about a dozen places that you are only to park in the lot WHILE you are shopping at the stores.

The only excuse I could see as being legit is when you are getting your car serviced at Pep Boys, and you spend your time waiting in the mall, instead of that dirty, shitty waiting area in PB, reading Car and Driver from 1999 about the Brand New '00 Corolla or some other dumb shit.
